Hi,
Here's my rig:
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
AMD64 3500+ (Venice)
Club3D Radeon X800XT
1x200GB SamsungSP, 1x200GB Seagate Barracuda
2x 512DDR 500Mhz PC 4000 Ballistix (Dualchannel)

I heard that there aint any difference if u have 400/500Mhz DDR with AMD64.
Also I heard that there are problems with overclocking if ur using the 1/2 SATA ports.
Is this true or not? :p

That's a good question. I just ordered the same board and a 3000+ venice core A64. Hoping to get a decent OC out of it but had planned to use the first SATA port. Hopefully there isn't a problem... ;)

Dont use the SATA1/SATA2 ports, i wont OC well then.
Use SATA3/SATA4.
Btw I changed my mobo for a DFI LanParty SLI-DR and my videocard for a 7800GTX.

Athlon 64 X2 3800+

Athlon64 X2 3800+
OCS PC3200 Low Latency Platinum PC3200
Abit AN8 SLI

2.6ghz baby!!!

cpu is at 260x10, 1.4v set in BIOS. Ram divider is set to 333 in BIOS giving me DDR433 specs at CAS 2.5 and 2.7v, water cooled with a small copper radiator and low flow pump along with a DD Maze-4 block. Very quiet! I might add a new 120mm radiator though since I am about maxed out on capacity...53c load temps...in a pretty warm room...

Here is what i have so far...im planning on getting a better HSF soon...but this is not too shabby to start...

Amd Sempron 64 2800+ palermo
Default vcore 1.4
Mobo Chaintech vnf3-250
Ram 2 512 of twinmos premium bh-5 at 2.9V

That is a 50% OC...800Mhz more than the default clock of 1600Mhz

Give thoughts...Im currently prime95 torture testing....

Some good data on here, would be nice to get it into a spreadsheet or something.
I've got a 3000+ Venice on the way with a DFI UT-D NF4 that'll post up my OC data...

I found this chart with a lot of good info and posted it in the other sticky thread...

yes - this is stuff which should go into a spreadsheet... hmmmmmmmm... if I get really motivated I might be up to it. :)

thats the highest ive gotten it. the load temps were around 55C and i dont like that, so i have it down to like 2.2 now :/ it was so unstable that i could pretty much just run superpi, everything else would crash. and my a64 tweaker is showing the wrong values in that shot. sorry :/

Everything stable, see sig
Here's the CPU-z Validator Link

Pretty nice OC, I decided to use the devider after I tested it and found that the devider didn't effect anything in terms of performance, but the tighter timings did help, so that's why I did it that way.

What's up w/fan2 in speedfan? 22500 rpm ?

speedfan doesnt report or hte mobo doesnt report SLOW fan speeds proeprly. so when you see that, assume its spinning super slow.

Thought I'd add mine. Can't seem to find too many newcastle's on the forums reporting good oc's.

A64 2800+ (1.8ghz stock) Newcastle @ 2.5ghz, 1.55v to keep it prime stable

278 x 9, 3x HTT

3700 San Diego, Wrote the code down and lost it. Been gaming at 3001 for a couple days with no problems. But this is the highest running Super PI. ;)

nice! I had bet it's a KAB2E... those have very low vcore reqs while maintaining very good OCs. mine only needs 1.4v for 2.8ghz.... I have a feeling it will behave like yours as I approach 3ghz... 1.53v is really good. wow. :)

Yes mine will do about 2.8 on stock voltage also. Something about 3gig just sounds good.

Cool... when did you pick it up and from where? I got mine from the egg just a little over a month ago. Ya.. 3ghz just sounds [H]ard. ;)

Got it from Newgegg on 9/16. I'm happy with my CPU. :D Got 2 gigs of Ballistic last week. I'm so happy I'm looking at new cases now.

Nice... I would be willing to bet $ it's the same stepping and possibly week/batch (0532XMPW) as mine. :)

Got an Opteron 146 today (1mb cache, 2.0Ghz stock).

Running at 2.9Ghz at the moment, on a stock FX55 cooler (I broke the opty's stock cooler when installing it  ).

3Ghz is pretty unstable. Prime fails after about a minute, and 8M super-pi fails, but at 2.9 it's rock solid. I might see about getting a better air cooler... or I could put it in the vapo :p

man where did you get that chip, I really want to get a chip that does 3 ghz.

2750MHz.JPG

x2 @ 2750Mhz
both cores prime stable
watercooling only the cpu
I haven't tested further

Got an Opteron 148 (2.2) Venus core yesterday with the following specs:
CABYE 0543FPMW
OSA148DAA5BN
1352979K50192
Does anybody know if this is a good week/stepping? Can't find much info. Thanks. :)

WHOA! I was thinking about buying an FX55 claw from a friend and seeing how well it's OC'd... do you think I could get 3.1 out of it on water with 1.6 vcore?

I followed the A64 OC'ing guide and got these (unimpressive) results for an OC:

HTT went only to 255
Cpu went to 2634
Memory (3 sticks) will only boot at 3-3-8, only up to 230MHz

So for a final OC I'm at 2627 cpu, 219 HTT 1:1 memory. See sig for specs.

Comments?
