Have you tried over the net, yet?
That always had me wondering, obviously theres a little latency, but I want to know if the video looks better than say, Onlive?

I haven't tried the online co-op on it, no. But it seems like PS4 must be doing over the air compression to match the resolution of the Vita. It definitely looks really good though on the screen.

I really did buy the console just to play Resogun...
and the controller, but I ended up getting a bit more out of it.
They give you $10 to spend, so I got Flower and Sounds Shapes. Flower is dope, I need some weed. Sound Shapes is the same PS3 game, but I never played it, way cool I like. Who knows how many hours of Resogun, Contrast came as part of PS+
too, but I haven't even played it yet. Streaming is cool to watch too, Jonathan Blow had a Resogun stream on saturday and was answering whatever questions, that was fun. Pretty amusing. I ran the controller down twice this weekend.

I think I like it.

Save some weed for Sound Shapes.

Mother of God... Res0gun is awesome. Geometry wars was awesome... But res0gun tops it.

I'm loving the controller more and more. Now I just have to wait for the kontrol freek thingys to come out.

It might seem like I'm trolling or flamebaiting to some degree, or perhaps even just blatantly hating on the PS4, but I just honestly don't see a point in it...RIGHT NOW. At this point in time...I don't see it as worthy of a purchase, and more specifically, a purchase FOR MYSELF.

From what I saw this weekend, Killzone wouldn't be a $60 purchase, and Knack would definitely not be a $60 purchase. Now if Uncharted was out, I'd have kept mine and wouldn't have dreamed of selling it, but that's just not the situation. I also sure as shit wouldn't keep the console for those third-party games (not that they're bad by any means, just saying).

I honestly think thats a valid opinion. As a owner of the PS4 I just opened it today lol. I find that Killzone is not that great, and BF4 is very very lackluster compared to the PC version (seriously all I am thinking about when playing it on the PS4 is that my god these textures are so bad) though driving games are good because of the controller but that can be done on the PC as well. I will be mighty disappointed in the Xbox One if Ryse doesnt do well.

Rosogun makes Brian Gumble look like Malcolm X.

Yeah, It's beautiful!! the explosions! The humans saying... "THANK YOU" coming out of your controller. :D

So there's no Bluetooth support?

Really sony. This thing is a clusterfuck.

I really like the ds4 but I feel the like the joysticks can be a little slippery especially when having to push forward all the time in AC4.

I can't wait until more games are released. I don't have a reason to buy one now, but I'm coming down from my Dota addiction so I may have to pick one up soon. All this talk of fluidity has got me wanting.

Resogun is a good enough reason to get a PS4 and broadcast yourself with the webcam. you will be uber famous. LoL

What is the lineup through December? Will there be more games next month or is this it?

I need more games to play when I buy mine on ~13th December.

I'm missing something? There is bluetooth support. My Nexus 7 paired right away. My Harmony Ultimate remote also(though wont stay)

Jesus , Assassins Creed 4 looks amazing on the PS4. My friend and I compared it to the PC version (he got it through .. umm somewhat questionable means to be fair) and they are basically the same. It runs at a higher fps on the PC yes , but considering this is a $400 console and his gaming PC is at least $1500 .. that's a seriously impressive feat.

Its also a last gen title and it still looks amazing. And best of all? Its the best Assassins Creed EVER. If you hated the previous games and love the idea of swashbuckling the high seas during the 18th century , then this game is for you.

Here is a screenshot I took in game. Its doesn't even do it justice , looks much sharper in game.

Yup I agree...I keep have to readjust my thumbs when running for long distances in AC4. The kontrol freek sticks are supposed to ship at the end of the month. Im in for a pair as I liked them on my 360 controller.

I don't think that'll compare to sitting decently close to a 1440P display and bumping everything to max, but it does look OK, will admit.

Apparently Ass Creed 4 is 900p atm on PS4, they are going to patch in 1080p sometime soon. I knew it looked all fucked up when I was playing (5' from a 60" 1080p screen).

My first impressions are good, the controller is amazing. It is such a huge upgrade from the DS3 I couldn't ever imagine going back. I actually like it better than the 360 controller which is remarkable because the 360 controller feels awesome.

Resogun = Awesome
Killzone = Good
Knack = Average (Good with kids + Co-op)
Madden = Awesome
Ass Creed 4 = Good, waiting for 1080p patch

I tried the F2P games but meh, they are average.

I had some crashing to the Home Screen from the PS Store during launch day into the weekend but that seems to be resolved and I did experience the blinking blue light of death fixed by turning the system off booting into safe mode and requiring the HDMI signal to the TV after switching to multiple TV's in the house.

I'd like to see Sony issue a patch to turn off the light on the controller via an option, give us more options in the Library, add DLNA support, more obvious Twitter, Twitch, Facebook integration (Options only, not in your face stuff) right now they are all scattered around in the GUI and not in one central place.

One caveat with the DS4 though is that the Option and Streaming buttons should have had more of a bump to them. It's difficult as hell to press them for me especially in the middle of gaming.

Not sure about in game but the UI gave me some eyestrain not nearly as bad a 360 eyestrain =)

Downloading a patch file for KZ 4 and I should be set to shoot some peeps who sit on der butts on tues Wednesday.

How do I check the downloads for games? for patches? not system patches but game downloads?

AC4 looks alright, but I actually wasn't that impressed. Killzone looks much better imo. The water effects in ac4 are very good, but everything still feels last gen with a little bit of the new gen mixed in. I'm not complaining it looks very good when I'm in/around the water, but in town everything looks just alright. I'm also blowing this up on a 106" screen, so that might also be part of it.

The screen is not the culprit. I agree 100% it just looks "ok".

Killzone does look better, but it's about as generica a sci-fi rail-shooter as they come (I always felt Killzone was just created to ride the coat-tails of Halo and Gears of War) -- it's an obvious showcase piece for the PS4's capabilities.

I'm loving AC4, and yes, the water effects are probably the best I've seen. Not to give anything away, but the ship level in the storm was definitely a "holy crap" moment for me. Even on a 42" screen, however, you definitely can notice the aliasing. It does look much better on a high-end PC, but I've always though AC games were much more fun to play on consoles.

Killzone predates Gears of War, but yeah, was Sony's attempt at a Halo (which didn't pay off so much though far from bad). AC4 looks absolutely great to me on the TV. AC4 I didn't expect to like so much because I was disappointed in AC3, but I do. Very glad it was gifted to me!

On another note, I do like that I can turn off effects I don't care for, like motion blur, in Warframe. Didn't expect to be able to turn off any graphical effects.

I really would like themes for this thing I guess custom themes are disabled I suppose they will offer themes like the 360 did just in house themes.

To be fair, Ubisoft has been pretty up front about AC4 not being any different between current gen and next gen. They said the foliage would look better but that is about it.

It's going to be getting full 1080p support rather than 900p and they will also be introducing a new anti-aliasing that help it look even better. I'm excited to see the difference.

Given that the game is both current and next gen, it's really to be expected that the difference is minimal. Ubisoft knows that the current gen console versions will outsell the next gen version, simply due to the greater install base of those consoles and the lack of competition. So, there comes a point when putting too much additional work into the next gen version would be cost prohibitive. It's easy to up the native resolution, toss in the high res textures and advanced processing effects from the PC version, and call it a day.

I think Assassin's Creed games have always been good looking though, at least on PC. This one appears to be no exception. It may not be jaw dropping, but its not an eyesore either.

My PS4 was dead yesterday and wouldn't turn on from the controller. I had previously left the console in Stand By mode. If I hit the power button on the console directly, it tripped a breaker. I did this three times and it tripped the breaker every time.

Then I disconnected the console from power for like 5 minutes, plugged it back in, and it works fine. Later I discovered my oven lost the time, so I lost power at some point when I wasn't home. I am susceptible to random brown outs, so I guess I am done with leaving the console in Stand By.

Would highly recommend getting some surge protection for your electronics in the house at least.

If budge permits they also make these for entire households. You'd likely need an electrician to install it. $400-$500 tops. Well worth it.

They can't help themselves.

Here is my take so far...

+ Awesome controller, while similar to previous Dualshocks, it feels completely different. I used it a bunch with headphones plugged in as well, worked well
+ Smooth UI and everything loads pretty fast. When I press the PS button, the UI opens immediately. Going from a game to Hulu and then back to the game is almost instant.
+ Great graphics. Though admittedly, I started off pretty "meh" on the visuals. Then I set my TV to 1:1 pixel mapping and disabled all of the stupid TV post processing shit. Now it is just straight 1080P from the console to the display. Killzone and Resogun look really impressive

- Wonky UI. It is smooth, but I miss the game splash screens from the PS3. There is a lot of stuff I don't want to look at in the UI and you can't get rid of it. Also, I totally don't get how I was looking at the game manuals and stuff two days ago, and now I can't get that to show up at all.
- Killzone. Terrible level design, unclear objectives at some points, magically spawning enemies, and a bad save system with checkpoints ranging between 45 seconds to 20 minutes apart. Overall it is fun and I like the gunplay, but they should have done better
We're on the same page it seems. Regarding Killzone, wtf?!? The objective markers are all over the place and in some parts I see other objectives popping up for things that aren't in my immediate list. In quite a few cases, the marker for my current objective never displayed and I had to rely on environmental queues to figure it out (not such a bad thing but jarring in any case). The UI needs to be tweaked some more, but what's there is functional and does what it's supposed to do without getting in the way.

How do you guys feel about Resogun? I think that's an awesome shooter, even if I had to pay $15 for it, which I didn't (yay PS+). Frantic gameplay, awesome graphics, and really awesome sound! Subs and a bass shaker of some sort are a must!

Killzone has good graphics but the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired I thought Halo 4 was better even for Multiplayer. I won't play single player if the MP isn't good.
Killzone MP reminds me of Brink the spawn locations are dumb you need to walk like 4 blocks just to get to someone else.

Maybe it's just my 22" pc screen =)

As I've said earlier, I love love love this game, it's gotten more playing time then AC4 or Killzone on my PS4 thus far

I'm going to go against most peoples opinion and say that Killzone is awesome. By far the best game in the series. The addition of OWL offers up something new and the graphics are quite impressive.

One of my favorite things about the PS4 is how quick and seemless going from a game back to the XMB (or whatever it's called now) and back to the game. It takes 1/2 second.

The gunplay just felt a little better to me in 2 & 3, but whatever. Shadow Fall is fine, if a little generic. I'm trying to get into the multiplayer. I suck at FPSs w/ analog sticks. (At least against most of the people online.)

I think after seeing the Xbox One UI in motion and how much is scrambled around in different boxes and how critical it is to use voice commands to short cut past the clunky navigation I prefer Sony's approach. Sony's UI might be overly simple but its fast and I get to what I want in an instant. I don't have to rely on anything but the communication of my brain through my finger tips.

I'm sure that in the future voice commands are absolutely going to be the next great leap , once they can nail down the responsiveness and accuracy. But for now even with the One I prefer physical navigation.
