My Amazon order supposed to arrive today. Was originally gonna arrive Monday. Probably won’t get around to installing it until tomorrow.

Sketch could you test it with SMT off and compare the HW info logs vs SMT on. I curious about the new stepping vs the old regarding clock/watt efficiency.

Happy to report my 9850x3d booted up on the first shot even without a bios update on a ASRock B850I Lightning WiFi just finished updating bios and creating my Win 11 install media now. Got some in-law obligations to head to in a few hopefully I'll get some testing done tonight

SOC voltage nice at low at 1.185v have not yet enabled PBO, just EXPO

EDIT:

Got a chance to play a bit of COD. SOC voltage peaked at 1.187. Held my 175 fps cap the whole time on a 9070XT with FSR4 enabled @ 1440p it does produce some heat though. Max temp was 74.6C. Think i'm gonna go AIO on this but i'll mess around with some fan curves first. Not sure what the difference between "Core Clocks" and "Core Effective Clocks" is in HWInfo, but max core clock was 5.615GHz and max effective clock was 5.481GHz

Manual probably will dropped with ~0.10 low. My 9800x3D works with 1.12v for 2200.

I’ll be tweaking and tuning in the coming days and weeks. Currently tightening up RAM timings a bit at a time and testing.

Adjusted fan profile from standard to performance and dropped about 2c and not really noticeably louder during normal desktop use. My case can accommodate a 140mm exhaust fan where a 120mm currently occupies. Will probably upgrade that and call it good as far as cooling goes. Though I have yet to mess around with PBO. I don’t feel it’s necessary with my 9950x3d so I’ll likely keep it off here as well until the day comes I’m actually cpu limited.

Overall very pleased with the machine. Just under $1000 for the fastest gaming CPU on the market, 32GB DDR5 6000 CL30 and a board to bring it all together isn’t bad in current times.

Where do I see the voltage that they're referencing in HWiNFO?
