9800PRO - or - GeForce FX5700Ultra?

[speedball]

Which one? So hard to decide/.....

ATI Radeon 9800PRO AGP vcard with 128MB

eVGA GeForce FX5700Ultra AGP vcard with 128MB

[pxc]

What's hard to decide between those 2 choices?

The 9800Pro is better.

+1, i owned the 5700Ultra 128mb, its crap!

[jmackay]

A) Why do you want such a super old card? Or do you already own them?
B) 9800 Pro!

[Devost8r]

9800Pro for sure. As stated earlier the 5700 ultra is crap.

[SPARTAN VI]

I think the closest thing nvidia had at the time was a FX 5950?

9800Pro of course.

[pigwalk]

5700's were closer to the 9600's. The 9800 shit all over the 9600.

[trick0502]

9800pro kicked ass in its time

[dennab205]

I say 5700 ultra ..... ok just kidding.

[Mr. Bluntman]

IF you go nVidia for that generation don't settle for anything less than a 5900XT, but even then they trade blows with a 9600XT in shader heavy apps. A 5950 Ultra would be a better bet if you can get it cheaper, but in the end...

Get the 9800Pro. Awesome cards for their day.

agreed.

[biohazard_nz]

9800 pro is much faster.

[Gaiden133]

owned a 9800 pro before this card and it was nothing short of stellar.

[MrGuvernment]

is that your final answer..................

[topdragon147]

2004 called, it wants its video cards back

My nephew is happy gaming on the 9700np I gave him a couple of years ago.

Next I'm going to give him a 6800GT that I picked up on ebay.

I think this guy was working with caveman dial up and it just finally posted his thread after three years.
Use this chart to compare performance, its got a few flaws but its pretty reliable. http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/08/06/the_best_gaming_video_cards_for_the_money/page7.html

[jmackay]

Or this one to compare bandwidth and such:
