980 Ti @ $599?

I was going to post "expected isn't the same as confirmed but it throw and idea" then i saw your edit.. xD..
 
I shoud make a website with bunch of false runors to mke money off of the click baits. Gtx 980 ti expected to be $700 with faster clock full chip with half vram. 390x 31.45% faster than titan x for $500. Will be able to buy two more titan x with all the ads ill stuff on the webpage.

I shouldnt post on my mobile phone :/

I'm guessing $600-$650 for the Ti. The new ATI cards should force Nvidia to price it competitively.

Accounting for inflation, $399 in 2002 is $525 today.

Considering how much more complex GPUs are today versus 2002, prices haven't gone up very much at all.
 
I think the 980ti will be faster or slower then Titan X and the 390x.

It will be cheaper then a Titan X, and possibly be the same price as a 390x.

This is what my inside source told me. Then I woke up and realized I read too much crap on videocardz and wccftech.

If the 980 Ti ends up being faster than the Titan X at a reduced price, isn't that a kick in the face to all the Titan X owners out there?
 
if rumors hold that the specs are same as Titan X but with less VRAM, 980ti will most likely cost $799 according to my calculations.

That's not going to happen unless the 390X is literally the most amazing GPU AMD has ever produced.
The 780 Ti was a kick in the face to all Titan Black owners but at least you still had compute to fall back on.

Nvidia only cares about competing with AMD, they don't care what people who already own Titan X's think. Why should they? They have your money. And they know you'll come back for more.

no its not, the extra 6gb vram is not something to be ignored, and if the price like I said is $799 for the TI then nobody is getting kicked in the face.

I agree. The extra vram of titans is worth it for 1440p and higher.

Look at what happened with the 780ti...the card is worthless, even on 1080p, modern games exceed or come very close to reaching this limit, due to 3gb vram. Gta V on my 1080p setup uses 3.9 gigs vram. Forget about maxing it on 1440p, especially with 3gb vram. I feel bad for people that sli'd two 780tis. Meanwhile titan/titan black owners are having a happy time still playing with their cards.

As a counter-example, I'm driving 5760x1200 off a single GTX 780 3GB card. It struggles to keep its head above 30 FPS in Grand Theft Auto V, at settings that are WELL BELOW ones that cause issues with video RAM.

Feels like I need more GPU horsepower before I need more RAM. The GPU I have now just isn't fast enough to properly utilize 3GB.

980's in sli can run out of vram in GTA V on 1440p, with sufficient frames. You can take down some settings a few notches and get even higher fps, but the vram usage is still going to make a 3gb card like the 780ti absolutly worthless. Don't forget, performance wise, the 780ti and 980 isn't too far apart. The vram is a definite choke on that 3gb card.

It is not really a counter example, because i emphasized sli as well.
 
I say 650 would be the perfect price, but knowing Nvidia, it'll be 699 at least, no exception.
 
I think it will come down to the price and performance of the 390x. That will go some way to the final pricing of the 980 Ti.
 
At this rate, the 980Ti will be out before the 390x. If AMD doesn't pull the trigger, we're going to have a problem.
 
I rekon 980 Ti will come out by end of May to steal some more market before AMD release the 390X.
 
I hope so. I'm ready to pull the trigger on Titan X or 980 Ti. AMD is a loss cause for me. One month away and they can't release benchmarks, even benchmark leaks? Something is amiss.

The 980 Ti's rumored release date is closer than the 390X and you don't give Nvidia shit for not leaking benchmarks? Eh... Just buy a Titan X.
AMD is always silent as the grave leading into new product launches. At their own peril, of course.

Where are you getting rumors of a cut down Titan? Everything points to Titan X with half the RAM. The 390X has no benchmarks other than percentage faster. Percentage of what?
 
The same places that say it's a full gm200.

Rumors say full chip.
Other rumors say cutdown.
We have rumors about the 390X.

What's the difference? Nvidia still hasn't said anything about it. We didn't know anything about the Titan X until immediately before its street date. 390X's release date is by the end of Q2, we've had rumors pointing to that since February. Why is it an issue now... Nothing has changed.
 
Probably no way to know this for sure except precedent but when these street will there be any impact on the prices of other cards like the current 980s or the Titan above this? (Probably not on the latter)

When 780 Ti was launched, vanilla 780 price was slashed. In Poland, it went down from $800 to about $600-$650 (that's with VAT, currency rates, transport, customs whatever makes our prices higher :p) Also we got later on 6GB vanilla 780 versions, as NV didn't want to equip 780 Ti with 6GB, because it would then heavily canibalize Titan sales.

I was not commenting on SLI, in any way.

What I said remains a perfect counter-example for single-card users. GTA V swamps my GPU well before 3GB of RAM becomes a problem (and that's with a GTX 780 at 1200MHz core-clock). A 6GB GTX 780 wouldn't help in the slightest, I'd still be hovering around 30 FPS at 5760x1200.

This is why I'm curious if the 980 Ti will be faster than the Titan X since more VRAM doesn't always mean more performance.
 
In any case, the 980 Ti will be a winner and the Titan X will loose most of its reason to be once the 980 Ti is available.

I think you guys are focusing too much on previous Titan releases and the cards that followed.
Yes the 980 was much faster than the Titans that were released prior, but that was it. Those titans were dual purpose, something the 980 isnt. Same with Titan X, it has no professional purpose this time around. I have a feeling the 980TI wont be as fast as the Titan, but I hope I am wrong. It just seems crazy for Nvidia to trump the X so quickly where it doesnt have any professional use to fall back on.

The 980 Ti's capabilities rest solely in the hands of AMD. Instead of asking whether or not Nvidia is ready to trump the TX so quickly, you should be asking what kind of ass-kicking AMD is about to unleash.

Here is me prediction: excluding the very rare scenarios where more than 6gb makes a difference, the 980 Ti will end up ~10% slower than the Titan x (and 20%-30% faster than the 980).
