Well here it sit with enough money to get another 9800GX2 (I love Ebay and reward points on Credit Cards :D)

Alas I do not have a system with an slot that can support another card, so I need to make room.

Thus I want to have a raffle in the spirit of Ted who gave away a few cards himself.

I won one of the give-a-ways, and now I can pass the card along to another folder that could use the step up in points.


Conditions:
To enter you must have an empty PCIe slot for the card
This card will be used for folding only
Must fold for [H] and have a reasonable amount of points (turning in one WU while the Thread is opened is not a reasonable amount of points)
If you stop folding for the [H] you must send the card to another folder for the [H] (this is On an honor system)
Post your badge with your entry
North America Shipping only

(I might ask some of the heavy hitters on the folding team to let the other team mates that want to fold but don't have the $$ to give the chances to them, your choice not a requirement, since I've added equipment I want to pass on what I was given)

I'm going to keep this thread up for a while. For two reasons:
I have to order the gift card from my CC company and then order my new card.
I want to let some of the lurkers have a chance (maybe it might get ya to post ;))

Everyone will have an equal chance, I will use your post number and this to pick the winner. If it picks a post that is not an entry I will just run it again.

(note: if my plans change I reserve the right to paypal you cash to purchase a new 8800GS instead of sending you one of mine, up to $85)

Nice of you to do Kendrak! That's the spirit that makes this team what it is. I agree it would be good to let some of the folders struggling to try and afford getting in on the GPU love to have the shot at this.

Like you said, you won a 8800gs from one of the "give aways" by Ted and you were going to "raffle" it off after an upgrade to another deserving folding member. (hey where is that dude :confused:, if you're reading this post please post Ted)

To me that proves the point of two (2) things: ;)

1) "everything that goes around, comes around (or something like that) :D

2) it reinforces my belief that not only does the [H]orde have some of the most knowledgeable folders on the Net, but the [H]orde folding team 33 also has some of the most generous members of any folding team :p

Edit: Oops :eek: , after the above words of well deserved praise I forgot one of the main reasons I wanted to make this post :( which was to put my "hat" in the ring for the 8800gs GPU raffle. I've got two available slots in two different boxen. I'm hoping to fill one slot with a "dual slot" 9600gso, but that still leaves me with an open slot. :D

Edit: Scratch the "dual slot" 9600GSO I just ordered a PNY 8800GT from the egg. (single slot) :(

I;m only running 3 boxen and I have an open slot. Not to mention so far the GPU is the best client Stanford has.

Very thoughtful indeed Kendrak. You have a heart of gold. Although for our match up I would have preferred you keep the 880GS :p Now that you're getting a 9800GX2 you'll be that much harder to catch up to again. ;)

You have a bit of time. Like I said in OP it will take a bit to get the new card, because I am going to use some gift cards to make it cheaper for me.

My file server has an intel 965 MB. I understand I can't run Nvidia cards in SLI on it, but can you plop in two Nvidia cards in it and just fold with them? If the answer is yes, then I'm in. :)

I'm on the wrong side of the pond.
I only run 9800 cards in my boxen ........... :p

Not trying to be rude Tiger, but you need another 8800 card like you need a hole in the head. You already are producing fine without it. Leave the raffle for the little guys!
 
Every one has a few more days to put a post in.

The replacement has been ordered. 9800GX2 in, 8800GS out and in the mail to a lucky folder.

i have 2 ps3s i just bought for folding.
I am in the process of building a new folding pc.
i currently dont have a desktop but workin on one for olding as
of now.
i already have a case, psu, and cpu on order.
the thing holding me back is lack of gpu and the 8800gs what i
am actually looking at on the egg
