I know windows wei scores are semi retarded but after the newest ati driver update my wei score went from a 7.8 to a 6.0. My video used be a 7.9 but after i did tha last driver update i dropped to a 6.0. Now i ran all my benchmarks and none of them have changed drastically there all within in 10-20 points of were they norammly are.

its probably becuase the gpu are not "clocking up" to thier full 3d clocks, you can force it to do so by going into your (name) appdata-local-ati-ace-profile/named profile and forcing it to use its full clocks, or you can at least verify it is doing so by running hardware monitor or something similar to see if the gpu`s are running at thier full 3d clock speeds. If they are not clocking up, thats your answer. I know for my 6870 I have seen it do this before, as in not clocking up though it should, different drivers can do this.

WEI scores are not that important, no, but they can tell you at a glance if something is not getting the performance it should, course, that is also what 3d mark is for, though if you have an SSD installed(everyone should for an OS drive at least) you should not bench constantly.

The WEI rating is notoriously inaccurate. Not sure how microsoft calculates the score, but alot of it has nothing to do with an actual benchmark. The rating probably went down just because the driver is a different version. Did you go from a WHQL driver to one of the preview drivers? That would usually do it, i've seen that index rating often dinging the score if your not using "signed" drivers.

Do you have anything to check against your odd WEI score like 3Dmark? I use it to compare my system from when it's running normal to when it seems to run finnicky.

Mine does not run at all 99% of the time with non WHQL certified drivers.
I use it for troubleshooting, thats all. I say if you are playing the games or whatever your normally do, and it seems laggy or the FPS is way low, then obviously its an issue, but any single banchmark/score by itself is almost without meaning without something else to "prove" there is a genuine issue.
I had asked if you ran hardware monitor or something similar to see if the cards were clocking up the way they are supposed to, or for that matter, you are running crossfire, are you sure the cards as fired they way they should be?
On another note, they have the newest 12.2 pre-certified drivers out. I know myself 11.8-11.9 were the best performing 11.10 was a little slower and 12.1 is alot lower performing, maybe it was used to slow the 6/5/4k cards down to make the 7k cards look better?
