i can't remember the last time a video card release was this quiet. there has been no official statement about anything, even on a launch date. the rumor mill has been in full force for weeks.

the night of the supposed launch is here and still nothing, not even a hint as to when it may arrive, if at all.

i don't get it. can someone shed some light here. what's the advantage of this situation?

Seems like a huge explosion to me.

I'm going to wait for the dust to settle and hopefully the price will be much less.

I sort of remember every launch ever kind of going like this. The NDA expires on a certain day and up until that day there is no real news, just rumors and speculation. There will be official statements and reviews going up tomorrow most likely assuming the date we have is correct. It's always like this unless some sort of massive leak occurs which really no one benefits from aside from those whom simply need the satisfaction of knowing. I dunno, I'm just looking forward to whatever I find when I wake up to tomorrow.

Gotta love the suspense.

I guess AMD is relying on word of mouth this time around?

XFX has the 2118AD campain on right now, though.

Could be since AMD knows ATI's high end video card sector is loosing them money left and right? Isn't that what I've been reading here someplace?

Yeah, their midrange cards should be making them some serious dough, though.

NV intercepted AMD's shipment and is rebranding them as their own. True story.

Yeah, that is kind of a bummer, seems like no one really knows if it was the 22nd or 23rd, well now we do since it's the 22nd and no additional news or anything.

NDA don't usually expire at 12AM on the date everyone suspects. I could be 12PM PDT or 4pm EDT for all we know. So until it starts getting withing a few hours of the 23rd, you can't really say "well, it's 12am of the 22nd, so the NDA date we thought was wrong."

Lovely...
nVidia releasing cards that suspiciously have very identical specs to AMD...

I cannot wait to see the flame wars based off of that!:D

Well, that's kind of the point, we dont know due to lack of information. Oh, well, not that big a deal. Another day may hurt but won't kill me.

It's quiet... TOO quiet

actually this is very common with ATI.. why they do it i have no clue.. i though they should be proud of what they created and allow everyone to see the benchmarks and numbers early to create even more hype.. but then again im not the over payed CEO of AMD/ATI so what do i know..

On the bright side, it'll be over soon now :)

Let's just pray it won't be a soft launch ;)

@Hypernova - Nice art :D

CEST time is +2 from Universal Time (central european aka from spain to poland but not the UK)

Eastern time is -4 from Universal Time
Central time is -5 from Universal Time
Mountain time is -6 from Universal Time
Pacific time is -7 from Universal Time

Thus
12:01 am for Eastern
11:01 pm for Central
10:01 pm for Mountain
9:01 for Pacific

So wait everybody it is only going to be another 14 hours.

well 4hrs from 4am would be 12 so wouldnt that be 12:01 am not 11:01 pm for eastern time zone?

its 12:01 eastern based on what Roland00 showed. he just did the math wrong.

thanks for catching the mistake I made, I was thinking it was 11:01 my time (I am in central time zone), and then I just subtracted 1 for the other time zones. I have since edited the above post, and it is now showing the correct times.
