576.02 Nvidia Drivers

Like I said before I actually love this bug as it has flat-lined my voltage/clock curve by completely disabling the auto-throttling feature.
It has improved my stability, not made it worse. It's like how things were pre-10 series.

I understand how it could be an issue for normies though (re: overheating GPUs).

edit: Worth mentioning his clocks went from 2400 to 2900 in Furmark.

Its an issue for everyone who relies on overriding fan curves for OC for cooling and also to lower noise levels. JayzTwoCents mentioned in a video about those that have GPUs in a waterloop.
In my case, its an issue if I were to install it on my gaming laptop. Though decent cooling (Lenovo Legion Pro) for a laptop, I still need it to have acceptable noise levels and I need to have access to sleep modes. This driver is worthless for me until that bug is fixed.
And no, I am not a normie and this bug affects many enthusiasts :p

I hope this black screens while I'm installing it so as not to deprive me of the experience I've come to know and love

So far this driver (576.15) fixed all the issues I was having including the white flashing on my desktop when HDR was enabled.

These hotfix drivers are the first ones in months that didn't leave me with a blank screen after install. Pretty much every driver install this year has required me to hard reset my machine. No amount of swapping inputs, toggling HDR, plugging/unplugging would bring it back - powering it off was the only way. Sometimes I even had to reinstall. That's on a 4090. Random occasional flashing textures in Dragon Age Veilguard also seem to be gone. Hopefully they're starting to get a handle on these things. My issues have been minor compared to some, but that's after years of bulletproof drivers.

I havent had any issues with any of my 5090s, 4090s or 3090s that are driver-related this year at all. I'm wondering what's going on when so many people have problems and I have none. I just installed 572.06 last night haven't played any games yet but I didnt have issues during driver install either.

Same - just installed and didn't black screen for me either, I have a 5090

Maybe this is a good one

Also noticed the NVidia installer was in disagreement with the NVidia app about what version was installed

That comes at a cost it seems. Unwinder (creator of MSI Afterburner) posted about this on reddit:

I am staying clear of those drivers, since it would be on a "4070" laptop I also use for work. Dont want to cook it. :p
This might be 5000 series only affected by temperature sensor issue. I am running 4090 and Afterburner shows correct temps.

I never saw it with my 3 50 series cards. I think you have to use sleep which most enthusiasts don’t use lol.

new hotfix 576.15 are quite a bit slower than the latest WHQL for me

Dang after 3 nights of stable gaming - got a Fortnite crash with this driver. It’s far more stable but I would not say this is “fixed” - RTX 5080.

It’s crazy - I can’t ever recall a single crash across all my cards in the 40 series with Fortnite.

I think most of the performance gains people reported were due to the boost algorithm working more aggressively due to to wrongly reported "low" temps. So yeah with sensors working properly you'll have lower performance.

Did you ever DDU?

My boost algorithm and sensors worked as advertised. It was boosting higher because of lower power consumption (thereby lower heat at same boost). This is same thing I have noticed in games as well.

Yup. Twice. Same thing. As soon as the (fresh) Nvidia driver install got to the point where the new display driver was installed, black screen that couldn't seem to ever "wake up." Had to power it off/hit reset each time. It started in January and this latest hotfix is the first time it hasn't happened.

my temps went up

hit 80C for the first time with them

Yeah looks like there was some sensor issues with the last patch which is why the hotfix was sent out.

Boy, Nvidia just cant catch a break when it comes to their drivers. Its been what 4 months now with bad 5000 series drivers. Nvidia should take some of those billions they have on cash and make a good GPU driver department!

Yeah. I think the general sentiment is those engineers are working on AI stuff and not gaming stuff. We get the cowboy interns.

So far the hotfix has resolved most of the issues I was having, but now including the temp bug after sleep. Performance is good and stable, so thumbs-up so far.

v576.15 gives me more hitching/stutters than the prior driver in Fortnite (Vanguard 5080). Annoying! Seemed to get better as the night went along so I'll keep banging away. It was so buttery smooth before so it is really jarring.

In Fortnite it's probably because it will take time to recompile all the shaders again. The stutters will go away if you stick with one driver version for long enough.
