360 Rad Fan Airflow Question

I am trying to figure out the most optimal way to set my rad on top. Fans on top pushing air out or fans below the rad pushing air out. Or should i put the fans pushing air threw rad into case?. I have a TFC rad with Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850RPM fans. I currently have a 140MM fan in the rear pushing air out and a 140MM fan pushing air up right near the PSU.
 
Below the rad pushing out if there is space between the fan and the case. If there is no space between fans and case (e.g. no radbox) then above rad pushing air into the case. You want ambient air basically.
 
I have the space for placing the fans whichever way. I guess will try out putting the fans at the bottom of rad pushing air out.
 
I have a single 360 rad with 3x 1600 SlipStream fans. It's cooling 2x 5870s at 1.3v running 1020MHz and it keeps them in the 50s. I am using the fans below the radiator blowing out. Seems to work well enough!
 
Its not going to make a big difference eithe way. At one time pulling the air through was considered the best. The reason given was that the fan creates a low pressure area under it which sucks air through the whole rad area. If you push the air through you have a dead spot due to the central fan hub.

So I still recommend pull. But a lot depends on the spacing between the rad fins and the fan blades and the more clearance there is the less it matters which way. And with a shroud or 1/2 inch of distance/clearance some old testing says it does not matter at all.

Even so we might be talking about a deg C or so in performance. Ease of maintenance/cleaning and looks should not be discounted. I notice with my machine I get more dust buildup on the fan blades and the grills than the rad so I have the fans on top pulling where I can get the grills off and even the fans loose for a wipe down without opening the case. When it "snows" dust bunnies I know it time for a clean.

That would be pulling air from the case through the rad. Since the components are inside the case and since heat rises, that sounds like the worst option.
