2007 Post Your Workstation

cancle your order, that was by far the worst desk I have ever had, the crappy fiberboard broke under the weight of my monitor, it was almost impossible to fit a chair under it, the keyboard tray stopped working and the black color came off after pulling a piece of scotch tape I stuck on it for about 1 minute, it was horrible. I much prefer my glass desk.

I got that desk as well, have had it now for over a year, its not tooooo bad. I just started have the black coating removal with tape issue. If your use LCDs its a good setup, wouldnt want a CRT on it or anyhting, had 17" one on it when i first got it and i was worried about it breaking but never did.

I havent had any real problems with it. Good space and room to work

I do keep knocking my chair and knee against the the center support tho :p

Dude dont pay $145 for it, got mine at Wal Mart for $60!
 
Hmm, unless you can find me a different site then I'll eat the mark up.

There's no Wal*mart within like a few hundred miles of me, and they don't sell it on their site.

Also I looked at about 10 different major sites that sell office furniture, and I couldnt find it. I don't feel like looking at little pics of desks. 3 hours is enough.

And about the quality.... I have an LCD, specs are in sig. So yeah... I've been using a ~$20 folding table for over 2 years.... it has to be a huge step up from this.

I don't have a lava lamp lol. My brother does but he usually takes the lava glass part off and uses just the light bulb as lighting is pretty crappy in our room.

Everyone here has awesome stups. Keep posting! Next visible upgrade I do, I'l post pics again. My original pics were on page two I believe...
 
Not quite what im looking for in terms of style yet, the changes im looking at are listed at the end of my post.

1. This is a general overview of my setup, its in need of cable ties in the back to clean up all the dangling wires but im moving within a couple months and I dont see them normally anyways so they arent in view. I usually have an x360 hidden behind the center speaker on the lower main shelf of my desk but it's in another room as of now, I hook it up to my monitor via VGA and use the optical on the Z5500 to run the sound, the computer uses the Analog and Digital outputs.
2. The large speakers are run off the iPod and reciever in the second picture, They sit directly beside my bed on the nightstand made from a keg I borrowed from my old work. The reciever isn't nearly the best, it will be upgraded to a better one around the same time I buy a larger LCD monitor which is a long while away still.
3. A slightly different angle to show the dagger mounted on the wall between my desk and right speakers. It's the first of what I plan on being a decent sized collection of swords and daggers (Im looking at getting another dagger and fullsize sword soon, medievel style of course)
4. Closeup shot taken in the same lights as the first two shots, I just turned off flash to show what my room looks like with the lighting I usually have

Could dariuslatamus and compslckr please let me know what the mixing codes, or what brand/colour paints you used on your rooms? I'm looking to paint my room red when we move in a month or two and im starting to reasearch colours and desks, the workstations you guys have are amazing, perfect colour and style for how I am and what I want and im extremely jealous of them. The way of a desk im looking for is this one, if anyone knows what desk this is or where to purchse one, I'd REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks, I will see if i still have the paint can in my basement tomorrow morning for the brand / mixing code.

That desk looks similar (almost identical) to mine with the addition of that shelf on the right, I would check staples.com for it since thats where mine came from and I know they offer mine with the frosted glass on it.

In terms of cable management, I took some shots of my power bars and a shot of the back of my desk. It's not the BEST cable management in the world, but I've done my best to keep it hidden from plain site..in the end, that's all that matters. I actually did clean them up recently and I just tried to set them up the individually to avoid getting mangled up.

Everytime I post pics of my room I get asked what the color mix is, so I always have the information ready :) I actually took pics for you of the can so you can see the brand and what the mix is. Hope you can make it out, i tried to take as clean shots as I could:

No that's the cable running down. I bought some plastic tubing and painted them the same color as the wall but the paint wouldn't stick too well to it but I tried my best. :)

Uni desk

Can't remember if I posted what it looked like before Xmas in the 2006 thread, but new stuff include the z5500s, Dinovo and a few holes in the desk.
 
I got it from a poster stall at the beginning of my first semester at Uni this year. I've not seen it anywhere else, though a friend said he got one from HMV. Dunno if they have stores in the US.

I can't answer the question as to what desk it is, or even where to buy it or the price but I can try to get the details out of my parents, it was a christmas gift. I can tell you that the entire desk comes packed in a single box so I doubt that any parts can be purchsed seperatly.

Is that the Dell 24" 2407WFP and Dell 20" 2007FP next to each other?

I already have the Dell 24" and thinking of adding two 20" to each side of it but I want the height to perfectly match.
