LUNAR FTW :D

I like the simple places as much as the nice ones. There is character in every one of them, and it tells quite a story of the wide variety of folks that make up our little community in here. :)

Lol, that also includes:

First pic is Dad's desk, second pic is brother's desk (he's 5, so no comp...yet) and third and fourth pic is of home theater area.

P.S. 50,000 dollars includes the cost to finish the ENTIRE basement (most of which is not pictured), the home theater area, as well as painting the upstairs, installing new tile, putting down hardwood, and installing recessed lighting.

BTW, I'm 18 :D

EDIT:
Home Theater setup:
-61" Samsung 1080p DLP
-Denon AVR-3806 receiver
--Definitive Center Channel and Rear Speakers (forget model numbers)
--Definitive 7004 Floor Standing speakers with built-in Sub
--Definitive 12" Subwoofer
-Samsung HD950 upconvert DVD player
-Comcast HD cable box with HDMI output
-Panamax Line Conditioner (forget model number, 8500 something...)
-PS2, N64, and GCN (not pictured)

Soon to add an HTPC once I get a case.

what a waste of the 7004s... theyre positioned so incorrectly

no, they actually sound a helluva lot better than you would think. positioning is perfectly fine...

...tbh, i was worried about how their placement would affect the sound. I tried the speakers out at in places with perfect positioning, and when compared to my home setup, the only difference I can tell is that the bass is a little 'absorbed' - probably by the cabinet.

for that, however, I have a 12" sub :D

What brand / model of receiver is that? Looks like an Onkyo...

theyre bipolar though, and from what i can see half of the sound coming out of them will just bounce into the tv and pretty much disappear

def techs are all about imaging and they cant image 4 feet up in the air

well trust me when I say it doesn't. the full 'image' of the sound is there.

btw, i should say that the sound doesn't disappear into the tv, but sounds like it's coming from the tv. obviously this depends on where the sound should be coming from. i've worked at magnolia ht for over two years now, and trust me when i say the setup is fine ;).

i got the bipolars because of the shape of the room, they sound much better than the Klipsch F3's that we had initially (kept for a week, than returned)

Thank ya much! It's all custom/built into the wall. We definately lucked out with the contractor, he was a good guy who understood that the work he did was a representation of his quality - bad work, bad contractor

get an ergotron arm for the monitor then lay down a insignia speakers on it side for the center, and i would also get stands for the insignias on the left and right, so it clears a bit of room off your desk

but thats just me

:D

i noticed in the other thread you said you were getting rid of your s700 gigaworks

the gigaworks probably have a lot cleaner sub than the sonys, have better rear channels, and they probably have a better front seamless soundstage cuz you have 3 of them paired up.

the thing is i rarely use this setup for watching movies..

i use this setup mostly for games/music/web surfing so really center and rears aren't that important

for movies, i use this setup here.. so really owning another good 5.1 seemed like a waste to me after salvaging sony receiver out of my garage...

i'd like to get some stands for my front speakers though..

anyone know a good stand that will match with insignias?

Justinkoko, just when I thought to myself "oh man, it doesn't get any better than this" you went ahead and made it better.

Congrats.

heh thanks for the compliment..

Used to have that speaker and desk. Was nice while it last. The surface of the desk eventurally peeled to no end. Speaker.. I blew it up..

Here's my workstation. Nothing too special.

wholedesk.jpg

Here is a picture of my whole desk. The shelves, the desk and the keyboard tray are all self built.

computerstation.jpg

Here's a straight on shot. It's pretty self explanatory. I really like the size of my keyboard tray. I built it to be as big as possible without being totally rediculous. On the far right of my desk you can see the space that's reserved for my desktop system, to be built when I have the money for it.

notebookshelf.jpg

This is a picture of my notebook shelf in it's extended position. It comes out far enough that I can use it while it's on the shelf if I push my chair up as far as it goes.

deskleft.jpg

This is just another shot from another angle.

rightshelves.jpg

Here you can see everything I have on the shelves.

If you have any questions about anything, just ask away. Thanks for giving me the opportuinity to show off my meager things!

(I hope the pictures aren't too small. I tried to make them sleek and snappy.)

This is my summer workstation, but I don't think I'm very productive in this situation. But I'm not complaining.
