in drive manager i have a seperate box that says ssd as c has a 100mb space whats that?

And if you install Windows Vista or 7 in a system with multiple hard drives, the system reserved partition (used for recovery/bitlocker/image index) will be placed on a drive that does not contain the OS partition. You can manually make it so that the system reserved partition is placed on the OS drive, but you must disconnect all other drives when installing Windows.

It's normal, just get used to it. It's 100MB, it's not worth the effort to get rid of it.

If you partition/format the drive before loading windows (and its the only drive when you install) then it won't be created.

The 100MB partition is created for the Windows 7 Bitlocker feature and you don't need it.

I always remove it during install.
