007 First Light - Official Bond game from IO Interactive

I like the Hitman games though I would prefer if this was a regular FPS game with some minor options for special assassinations or something. The 007 games I played in the past were regular shooters.

Honestly a 007 game that plays like Hitman minus the costumes and with a bit more emphasis on the shooting...

Probably a fantastic matchup. Make it halfway between Hitman and Sniper Elite.

I'm interested and support IOI. Big fan of Hitman and I'm happy they are independent and helping others avoid big corporate publishers.

looks like the same type of game in spirit as the recent Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones games...young Bond with all the usual Bond Easter eggs in an action game

Disappointed it is in 3rd person though. But this does look more action adventure than shooter. Uses the Hitman engine, which looks kind of crappy but passable.

I hope this finds some kind of balance between Hitman sandbox and 007 action.
That's the impression I got from the trailer.

Young Bond in the modern era? That will take some getting used to. Almost like a reboot of sorts. I'm so used to Bond being an old relic of the cold war era.

IO is really good at stealth mechanics. I love all the Hitman games. Never really liked the Kane & Lynch games.

Cut scenes look ok. I think they nailed the music.

I wonder if the old jokes will even work with a young audience?

Not really vibing with Bond's character design, though I like the vocals. He's set up in the trailer intro as having a tough childhood and then presented without a hint of that, like some freshfaced character from Watchdogs or something. Idk, as some Bonds are very campy and those films match that while others are more a gamut (Dalton, Craig). I guess they figured various games have tried certain tones already so they're testing something new.

If there are dialog options I hope it allows us to roleplay as the Roger Moore-ish Bond, always a sparkle in the corner of his eye and making dad jokes.👌

I think they will have to try very hard to screw this up. IO has my confidence. If they pull off the right balance of 007 action and Hitman sensitivities then this will be untold number of hours of my free time gone just like the Hitman games.

Agent 47 has to have some kind of cameo appearance before it's all said and done. ;)

I guess we will see more at the showcase on June 6. I want to see some more gameplay.

It's one of those magical things lost to time because Valve nailed it with Half-Life 2 two decades ago using like a quarter the polygons or less.
It doesn't look good but to be fair the more polygons and details the harder it is to make it look right.

Everything about the glacier engine just looks dated and second rate. It looks like an average 2015 game.

The mission, which is simply called The Banker, is available now, but will only last until July 6.

Players who sign up for an IOI account and beat the mission will unlock a special suit which can be used in the upcoming 007 First Light.

“Le Chiffre is a character I have always enjoyed – he’s calculating, cold, and ruthless,” Mikkelsen said in a statement.

I don't think I'm going to like this game.

In an interview with The Game Business, CEO Hakan Abrak confirmed that 007 First Light will follow the same live-service blueprint as Hitman, with new missions that will be steadily added to the game over time. Abrak also reassured players that they would receive a complete package on day one.

That said, the studio's goal isn't to turn 007 First Light into another Hitman, as the fundamental playstyle and gameplay loop of any would-be James Bond title should be inherently different from an Agent 47 game.

"The first objective with 007 First Light is to come out with the best possible, most impactful journey for gamers, 007 First Light will be a single-player live service game."

They also said they made Bond Young to better appeal to a younger audience, while the average gamer age has been consistently going up the last decade.

What a disappointment. I don't mind some post release DLC but it seems like they will slow drip a mission or two after many months and then spam the menu with time limited missions that go away for some odd reason like they did with the Hitman games. Really won't work that well with 007, and I hate this development model. Single player games are not mutiplayer games.

Dumbasses never learn. I had to wait almost 2 years before I bought Hitman all missions at bargain bin. Then they still added missions that I never played.

What a waste. Not sure who keeps paying for this kind of shit that us gamers have to suffer. Guess will play it when it won’t be relevant anymore.

The introduction of FOMO with time limited missions really pissed me off.

And how will they know you set this as a wallpaper - first concern of what data are they mining from your computer....

Seems like this isn't going to have a coherent story and just have some bland James Bond scenarios/villains. The previous Hitman games would have been better without the timed content and slow drip of content. My interest in this has certainly decreased.
