I'm a television editor and new to the forum. Years ago I built a RAID for video editing using an ARECA 1882x which has worked great. Recently the 4tb HGST drives started dying and I want to replace the drives.
Is there a limit to the size of SATA drives this older card can handle? I...
It's maybe a bit of a silly question, but....
I have upgrade the firmware on my Areca 1882 card to 1.56. Files located here:
Now as people who use Areca cards know, that gives you 4 files. I have selected them all in the menu...
I own a couple of 1882 Areca cards. Most of them are working fine. I would like to replace the fans of all of them, starting with a 1882-8i.
I have removed the fan and the squared metal. I have bought a Noctua 40mm (10mm height). This one doesn't really fit on to the squared metal, but okee i...
I have got two machines with Areca 1882i (8 ports) cards. The machines are connected by Mellanox Connectx-3 (10Gbps fiber) cards.
Both machines have got a RAID5 array (8x2TB and 8x3TB).
Alle four cards (Areca en Mellanox) are on PCI-E 3.0 x8 slots.
My problem is when i copy large amount of...
I've got an Areca ARC-8050T 6-bay (less than 6 months old) with 5 Seagate Ironwolf drives in a RAID 5 array. It's been performing great. However, I've been running Drive Genius from Prosoft, which monitors drive health in the background. It recently started giving error messages...
Just taking apart my main desktop, I've been moving to Intel Nuc's, for my home computers. Ran this setup i7-4770k+ 690 and it worked amazing for games (27 Overlord LCD 1440p at 120hz).

I got a short question:
I got here a a few Seagate ST12000NM0007 with a TLER/CCTL/ERC value of 10.0 seconds (not changeable).
Now i try to get it working with my Areca 1880, which at least supports the changing of TLER/CCTL/ERC settings on the controller (unlike others).
TL;DR - TLER/ERC/CCTL status uf some of the most used/most interesting 12TB HDDs you find in my post below (4th post).
Well .... I really don't know what I can do now. I'm absolutely desperate...
I got here 2 Areca ARC 1260 (with newest Fimware) and 1 ARC-1880(IX-12) (with...

I have a top of the line, ARECA ARC-1883IX-16 SAS 12Gb/s RAID card for sale with all cables and a Battery Backup. If you want to ball out of control with storage, this ARECA is the card! Can do any RAID level and JBOD as well as support for SSD caching. I have about 20+ RAID cards and...
If anyone could help on this I would be extremely grateful.
We have a RAID 6 running on a 1880x STORPORT.
After a power failure to the external RAID box during slacktime (the computer was on, but nothing was running on it, so no data being written), the BIOS startup screen stated that RAID...
Sorry this turned into a TL:DR.
I am in the process of setting up a new home storage server and I am experiencing very bad write speeds on both an Areca 1882i and 1883i.
The current setup is the following:
HDDs:12x Seagate ST3000VN000 3TB 5900RPM (8 of the drives are ~14 months old...
I bought a HP StorageWorks Ultrium 1760 LTO4 Tape Drive with external SFF8088 and a few LTO4 tapes.
I pretend to do backups to my 12TB share and keep them on these tapes in a separated physical location.
I though it would be possible to connect the tape drive to my Areca 1880i...
