    WTB Lian-Li v2000

Trying to find a black Lian-Li v2000... used okay, new even better. Anyone know any stores in the US who still have stock, or anyone have one sitting around they'd like to sell?

    LED flicker circuit?

Basically the circuit in this LED candle thing is a switch, a battery, a 47 ohm resistor, and an LED, and an IC (coverd under the usual black glue stuff). Shown below: http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa15/Carmina1972/tealight5.jpg I'd be looking to wire two red and 1 yellow LED...

    LED flicker circuit?

Hello all, been a while since I've been around but starting a new build and needed help trying to figure out how to do something and this was the first place I thought to come look for help. I need to find a way to make 3 LEDs flicker like a candle flame. I thought about trying to gut a...

What are the best 2gb sticks for overclocking?

OCZ Mushkin Corsair Crucial What happened to the good-old-days when picking RAM was easy... this brand underclocks, this brand overlocks, this brand is crap, this brand overvolts... etc?

What are the best 2gb sticks for overclocking?

Just got two sticks of Corsair CM2X2048-6400C5 with timings of 5-5-5-18. Not sure if I actually plan to use them but the price couldn't be passed up and I figured worst case senario I'll just eBay them at a profit. Anyone familiar with this RAM? Is it worth keeping around? The timings seem...

You'd be better off buying a...

Okay... I'm planning my next build (actually I've started the necessary mods for watercooling on a Lian-Li v2000) and was hoping to get a little idea of what you'd all think I should toss money around on: The current build: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe AMD Athlon 4000+ San Diego XFX GeForce 7900...

Walmart Gift Card after mispricing on SSBB

I've regularly seen signs posted at several different brick-and-mortars appologizing for errors in print advertising. "We regret that the $1000 37' LCD TV was a misprint and should have read 37" LCD TV..." I can't imagine who the "the world owes me" chump would be that would go screaming...

    Lian-Li case fixing

Dzien dobry! There's really no good way to repair annodized aluminum. Even body repairs on steel framed cars take several years to master and the imperfections are easily masked with body filler (Bondo). If you paint that panel after any repair you undertake you'll have an annodized case...

    Lian Li V1000 and V1200

Yarp... it's a little deeper. It leaves a little more room for a longer PSU, easier install of a full-sized ATX MoBo without worry about capacitors hitting a longer CD drive, possibly better cable management space, and... well... a couple bucks. I suppose it also leaves a little more space...

Where to get OEM hardware for Lian-Li v1000?

I've got a stack of Lian-Li parts in my PartsCloset v2.0... you can come over and pick through everything for $10/oz. Actually... check http://www.frozencpu.com for OEM parts. If memory serves correctly I think they used to sell a clamshell of all sorts of random Lian-Li OEM parts (screws...

Leaving the side of case off?

You're completely fine with the side panel off. Assuming you don't have a dog or cat to get in and eat wires or a brother (with poor aim) who decides its a great idea to try to shoot you with a water gun - happened to me. I've known a lot of people who leave the case side off for just that...

    Lian Li 343 build help

RAM sinks are RAM sinks for the most part. Look for ones with a lot of surface area and make sure to have some way air is going to move over them. They're a good idea but if the air in your case is stagnant they're just about useless.

    painting case interior

I've used the "anodized" paint before. Keep in mind it tends to be somewhat thinner than "normal" rattle can spray paints. When the instructions say to apply thin coats and allow adequate drying time, follow those rules. Some rattle can paints you can just slather on and they're good to go...

    Small-run anodizing?

Thanks a TON! I've sent a couple e-mails out with descriptions of what I'm looking to have done, hopefully I'll get a decent quote from one of the companies. Since they do paintball guns I'm sure they're used to small run orders, hopefully they'll be able to handle a 24"x8" sheet. If so...

    Lian Li 343 build help

As for Push/Pull it really becomes a matter of personal preference but I've always tried to keep positive pressure in the case when I've air cooled (more fans - or higher CFM - sucking in than blowing out). This allows me to put filters on the intake fans to keep inside case dust to a minimum...

    WTB Asus 939 heatsink bracket

I've got one. To be honest it's either a pull from a A8N32-SLI Deluxe or a bracket that came with a Innovatek waterblock to fit a 939 socket. I'm pretty sure it's the one pulled from the board since the Innovatek block is currently on the A8N32-SLI. What's it worth to you? :D

    Delay Start Power-Up?

I figured it would be a better idea since I'll be running two WC loops, SLI, and RAID'ed HDDs. I've got an older PCP&C PSU that I planned to use for the system componenets and a stack of still-older 350w Enermax PSUs already laying around the house. Figured some sort of relay would be...

    Delay Start Power-Up?

I tried posting this in the PSU forum but figured someone here might have more experience with establishing a set-up along these lines. I'm trying to figure out a way to run two PSUs on my watercooling rig, I'd like to have both start up with a single power-on switch but here's the kicker -...

    Dual PSU with delay start?

Excellent! Thanks! I'd never heard of a 555 before and just had to Wiki it. From the description there it sounds just about exactly what I was looking for. Now to see if I can find a 12v version or if it's going to get really complicated. So let me see if I understand how something like...

    Small-run anodizing?

Thanks for the linkie, that one is a lot more detailed than the others I'd already bookmarked. Seems like it'd be a good garage business for some industrious modder out there looking to make a couple bucks here and there. Noone knows anyone, hu? I may have to just suck it up and start...

Kent? I'm down there every month. Interested in suplimenting your tuition? Actually September is a little late.. by then I hope to be cutting wires and figuing out how to mount a molex connector on the rear of a MoBo. Pre-mixed? Is it that easy? How much would the chemicals cost for a...

    Small-run anodizing?

I've found a couple how-to's showing how to anodize aluminum in my garage but don't really want to play around with acid and electricity - I'm a little clumsy and can see the yellow hazmat truck pulling up right behing the coroner's waggon. Does anyone know of any companies that do custom...

    Dual PSU with delay start?

From your description it sounds like you're recommending a seperate switch to turn on the loop before hitting the button to actually turn on the actual PC power. I'd thought about that and wouldn't really mind that for the most part. What I'd be concerned about it my GF deciding she wanted to...

    Dual PSU with delay start?

I've read through the Dual PSU sticky and was happy to find the diagram for the relay method to turn on the second PSU but I'm wondering if anyone has seen a diagram or commercially available product that also incorporates a delay switch? I'm planning on running an old 350w secondary to my...

    Recommendation (different approach).

Different approach to the old "which board should I get" question: I'm working on planning my next build, the case should be here from the cutters by the end of January, with a little more modding work to accomodate the watercooling loops the first parts of hardware will be going in...

    ASUS A8N32-SLI & RAM Problems

The GPU is factory overclocked, everything else is running stock now. I'd overclocked it about a year ago for a few months and decided it wasn't worth it. The rig is still watercooled with a Aquacomputer/Innovatek system though. Going to run RAM tests tonight (getting out of work early) but...

    ASUS A8N32-SLI & RAM Problems

Thanks much guys... I'll give that a shot. Plan to run MemTest on them this weekend. Now I just have to sort out why the Soundcard is dead now. When Windows starts it tells me the card is not installed properly and I get no sound. Could there be an issue with the PCI Bridge or NB or...

    iPod car charger and RCA?

Ah... now that's a little more like it... I could eaily mod that to be permantently installed in the console of the car with a generic clamp style holder to keep everything in place. A little superglue/epoxy, little Dremelling, couple feet of wire and it's good to go. Find a USB car...

Anyone else with input or suggestions? Widescreen 22" just not worth it right now? How bad is TN really? What about a 170 degree by 160 degree viewing angle? How "off" are the colors on a TN display? Should I just skip the Widescreen and stick with a 4:3 monitor? Maybe a nice 19" or...

Yeah, I've heard the TNs are pretty cheap... but there's a couple on NewEgg that are WSXGA+'s... is that just another way to say TN? Initially I was looking at 19" widescreens until I really looked at one in person and realized the screen height barely matched a 17" CRT. That's whn I started...
