I'm really hoping someone can help me out here. My current build is pretty dated but at this time I cannot afford to rebuild or upgrade and need my workhorse to stay alive.

First the details:
Motherboard: A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (I think it's a San Diego but can't remember)
GPU: XFX Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT
Sound: Soundblaster something-or-another
RAM: Corsair XMS3200 400MHz (2x1024MB)
PSU: PCP&C SLI 510

The issue:
Last night I'm gaming along, having a great time, everything is going along swimmingly. When, with no warning the PC resets. The screen goes black with the "No Video Signal" message on the screen then the PC starts rebooting. It goes through the ASUS post screen then hits the "Windows did not shut down correctly..." notice screen. I decide to select "Start Normal", it clears past that screen then goes to an all black screen and hangs there. HDD isn't being accessed, RAM isn't being accessed, just hangs. Figure I'll hard reboot, selected "safe mode", "last known good start"... same results. Gave up and figured I'd ty again today. Unplugged the bugger and let it sit.

Today came home and the same things happened. Started trying to trouble shoot and eventually tried pulling one of the sticks of RAM. All of a sudden everything seems to be working okay (with the exception of the sound which I'm going to work on after posting this).

Anyone have any suggestions of what to try or know what the problem might be?

I appreciate any help you can share.

Thanks in advance!

Test it with each ram stick one at a time. Might have some dead memory on you.

Do a Memtest 86 on each stick to see if you get any errors.. I just had to RMA one of my Corsair Twinx2048-3200c2pt stick after a year in use. It basely did the same thing the computer stop working and would not let me reinstall windows. Call Corsair and had no problems getting them to replace the stick of ram. It did take a while to get the stick back ,had to call them 3 time to find out what was going on. My RMA page that show me what was going on was always blank.

I had this problem with a PSU dieing. Try disconnecting the power to everything you don't need to just test your pc. (that is if your ram checks out)

Thanks much guys... I'll give that a shot. Plan to run MemTest on them this weekend.

Now I just have to sort out why the Soundcard is dead now. When Windows starts it tells me the card is not installed properly and I get no sound. Could there be an issue with the PCI Bridge or NB or something?

To be honest I don't know much about how motherboards work but I know when I was building this PC I had to go through 3 of these boards because every one had problems with something.

With one stick of RAM and no sound everything else seems to be working okay.

The GPU is factory overclocked, everything else is running stock now. I'd overclocked it about a year ago for a few months and decided it wasn't worth it. The rig is still watercooled with a Aquacomputer/Innovatek system though.

Going to run RAM tests tonight (getting out of work early) but the sound is really getting annoying. I might try checking the on-board sound to see if that works. Won't sound as good as the Audigy but living in a soundless universe is getting on my nerves.
