1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Mostly gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
about 600 to 800 dollars, taxes and shipping included
3) Where do you live?
Canada
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case...
So back in june I got a great deal, At first I was going to buy the parts to build a new system to replace my old A64 3000+ but then futureshop had a great deal on for an Acer Q6600 system, that was to good to pass up.
Ase700-eq662a
Vista premium (32bit bleh, why can't they put 64bit on )...
So just recently (july 22nd there about) I recently built a new system, using parts from my old one.
Now im fully upgrading and moving out all the old stuff.
Old stuff being my 2x512mb of samsung ram, my OEM Pionner DVD drive.
So first on the block is the ram, Figured for the future I...
So Installed coolbits, went to the oc option in the display area, and tried some modest ocs.
Thing is, my performance dropped to practically nothing.
when once I was getting 44-48fps in say the first 3dmark test, im now getting 4-5fps.
So I figure I must have accidently turned on high...
So my new system will be here monday, and after obviously setting it up and making sure everything is working (and stable)
Im going to oc a Tad.
Now ive never oced a A64 system at all, im used to the standard Fsbxmulti bit.
HTT/LTD mixes things up quite a bit, but I THINK i have the lay...
So I'll be upgrading this coming week, and the obvious choice for me is AMD. (has been since my pentium 2)
For the time being im trying to keep costs around $1200 (Canadian mind you) And in the future (like 4 months after I build it) I'll be investing the same ammouant again to "even" it out...
So im trying to decide which to get, I could get:
vp191b for $604.67 or
vx924 for $542.93
or I could grab a L90D+ for $458.99 from tigerdirect.ca
(canadian prices)
im leaning towards the vp191b, as the new 8ms version is one of the best 19" lcds out now..
So who else is intrested in getting one of these ramdisks?
http://anandtech.com/tradeshows/showdoc.aspx?i=2431&p=5
Intresting to say the least, 4 slots, say grab some cheap 1gb oem samsung ram (doesn't need to be good stuff becuase the ram is limited to DDR200 (pc1600)
also has a 16...

pretty well done. :p
Looks like they used half life 2's lip sync to any speech feature? (with g-man)
http://www.benq-eu.com/Products/LCD/index.cfm?product=516&page=specifications
crazy. wonder when reviews of this will start to appear.
(and why is it benq can't for the life of them make a decent looking lcd case?)
Ok the distribuator we buy from has these listed (apparently they are the new vp17b-2's) but they are "head only"
Now as far as I can tell that means they are just the lcd screen.
aka they don't come with a stand of anyform shape or size.
Im a right?
Here's the kicker.
They are...
thinking of getting a HTIB instead of some pc speakers (aka get them over gigaworks, logitech etc) for one, they are cheaper.
and they should sound better eh? (using soundstorm)
My budget is around $400 there abouts.
looking at futureshop (canadian dollars mind you) I could get any of...
Ok this power supply "looks sweet" and all the reviews I have found have agreed on this point thus far. :o
BUT what they don't go into detail is meassuring performance, how the rails handle under conditions of various loads etc (what really counts)
Now I would say love to buy this psu...
was rooting around in my basement storage area today and what do I find? why its the speakers from my vinly turntable stero setup (all I have left of it)
they are a pair of JVC speakers, to be specific:
JVC Model SK-101.
I can't find any specs on em, but they do sound great still :D
Was looking around and noticed that the supplier we use for products now has listed (new) Logitech Z-5500's Digital 5.1 Speakers (techdata)
these are about 20 dollars more then the z-680's they have listed, and quite a bit more then the z-5300 which are listed as just 5.1 speakers (they...
I had no idea that they made or had made crt's with DVI, but Ive seen an IBM P275 that has just that.
How would that compare to say BNC connections? just as good? better? not as good?
Just got an NF7-s over the weekend, along with a xp-m 2500+ sp-97 some AS5 and another 512mb of pc3200.
(running at vcore 1.875)
