The first time I saw that pre-modded window I was a bit shocked :"omfg such bad taste", but after a bit, that image sank in and i began to like the window. No, not for the looks, but for the modding potential. Has anybody ever thought of making a watercooler reservoir out one? I'd love to mod...
Yeah, it's a bit slow. As a matter of fact, my G3 900 is a bit slow (I.E. I can't play videos on battery mode and i get pretty sluggish if I do anything CPU intensive). In other words, it will be slower than your box
Pretty easy, I'd say. Do you come from a windows background ? Yeah, pretty...
Dude, that guy is a dumbass cell-!!!!!!. http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/cpu/cell-1.ars is a muuuch better link. Hannibal is the man.
For those who doubt of my word, let Hannibal do the talk :http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20050124-4551.html
The difference is between understanding and accepting. I cannot have a computer as unreliable as a G3 iBook for doing serious work. It will break, it's as simple as that. If it breaks, it's a POS to me. hehehe
I bought the most expensive applecare plan anyway, so the extention didn't matter to...
I'ma try to replace mine with a 800Mhz G4. It's slower, so they should ok it. I'ma call them tomorrow.
So when you buy something that breaks because of falty parts it's not a POS? They replaced the board, ergo, they replaced the semiconductor, and it broke again. The same thing. Coincidence...
Those ibooks are the most unreliable POS every made by apple.. This is the THIRD F****** TIME i have to send it back to apple for them to change the logic board. What do you guys think I should do? Ask for a replacement with a model that doesn't suffer that thing? Just get mine fixed and STFU...
What?!?!?
This is like asking "What is heavier, a pound of lead or a pound of feathers?"
They're both a pound, dammit. We're not talking about density here, we're talking about weight. One pound of hydrogen will weight more than .10g of paladium.
Saying that both elements cannot be...
I guess that for that toshiba R100, it's not a viable choice for me.
I was thinking of posting a ft on the fs/ft forum for trading my ibook to an mm20
and there's the fact that its got a trident videocard :p
shitty windows drivers. even my ibook runs Warcraft 3 better than that hehehe...
Anybody have any experience with the sharp actius MM20? I used an MM10 and it was dog slow to play divx, but that as far as my experience with it went. How long does the MM20 last on the battery? Do the basic 3d functions work ? (possible Enlightenment .17 usage later on)
I'm thinking of...
Well, the PS2 clusters was made so that the Graphic Synthesizers (GPU's name )could be used in parallel, not the Emotion Engine (PS2 CPU). The Graphic Synths are really strong on vector math (SIMD)
All that, of course, IIRC
I have a Netgear access point/dsl router, the cheapest kind u can get. It's home, so I'll check the model when I get home tonight.
I'm going to college and we have one ethernet jack and no wireless in the dorms. Since I have a laptop I need wireless networking. The AP doesn't have an uplink...
Honors College :-D , University of Texas at San Antonio
next year
University of Texas at Austin (couldn't get any farther.. dammit.. ^^)
Computer Engineering with possibly a minor in Computer Science.
Well, your card is AGP, so as long s u get a non intel motherboard for socket T it's good. Some intel socket T have an AGP slot, but they're just a PCI slot with a different connector. Don't get those. U could go the athlon64 route or buying a non intel socket T if ur going for the cutting edge...
If he's going with the new intel chipsets, he can't keep the video card. PCI Express only. :-(
I don't know about the soundcard.. Some board got regular PCI too don't they?
Well, I know that I did troll but I did not mean to, sorry.
I don't consider that an insult. It's not like I'm anti-american. I'm anti-bush but that's a different story.. :D It's just that I see as much sense in this as if everybody in france suddenly started to call france, as a country...
Well, I have no Idea on where I should stick the probes of the multimeter, so I guess I'll refrain from using it at least at first :D
I managed to lower the voltage a little more.. I'm running at 1.55 now.. Seems stable, but then again, I'm pretty sure it's gonna reboot soon.. And I'm still...
I'm ruinning prime95 now and the temperature began at 52 and now it's at 57. The case is at 45C, which is pretty bad I suppose. Maybe it's because the wires are all cluttered inside and my Radeon9800 Pro is pretty hot too.. Does all that sound too abnormal?
Now for the voltages.
I don't know...
I just updated my SN45G (v2 :() to the latest bios, and to my surprise the once rock-solid system I had is stable no more. Everything pointed to memory issues, so I checked the settings in the bios and, to my surprise, everything was alright. I tried underclocking the memory back to 166 and now...
So, I picked it up today(getting a ride to downtown was hard.. heheh) and it was what I thought. Logic Board. I only opened my wallet for a picture ID. No cash. Schweet. And they even gave me one of those small rubber feet for balance under the laptop.
