Yep. Ammo is practically non existent. I used bottles, bricks, arrows, and a whole lot of hiding and avoiding. A very different experience from the prior playthroughs where I always approached things from the mindset of 'okay, how do I kill this guy?'. Instead, 'how do I avoid or get around this...
I just finished a run on the game in Survivor+. I had Joel maxed out and it was noticeably better in aiming when I think back to my first playthrough. I stuck with the bow and stealth kills for the most part.
I rooted it just to overclock it. Beyond that, just used it like a regular phone. Not a lot of room, no. I have just adapted by keeping a few apps on it and using it for checking the internet. Again, this is why I want to take advantage of the new hotness coming out.
Really annoyed the more...
Honestly, it is as much because of several co-workers that have gotten me to upgrade. They have gotten the larger screen phones from HTC and Samsung and I can't help but like the extra real estate and features they offer. It has made me a bit jealous. So, I may as well change that. I never...
Do you know any good websites to learn current tricks and practices for Android and specifically as it relates to the S4?
Any suggested places/websites to purchase a S4?
Well, that sucks.
From just a brief little bit of research, even App2sd may not be terribly helpful. I was finding many references to apps that just aren't configured to be used from a microSD card.
Rather annoying. Thanks for the reply, though. It gives me something to look into.
I am looking to get a Samsung S4 on Verizon.
I have an unlimited data plan that I don't intend to lose.
This means I buy a phone outright. Verizon is only offering 16GB models.
Can I buy any carrier's S4 model, replace the SIM, and activate it on Verizon?
Would I be able to get a 32 or...
I prefer the room of sound to headphones like you do. If it were the only option available, I would do headphones - and I want to keep that as an option for later should I need it.
I hadn't thought about wireless speakers for the rear. Thanks, that is something to consider - I was only...
The room is around 25 x 15 with the computer at one end.
I am really hoping to not have to bother with headphones. I will if I have to but it isn't something I want to do at this time if possible.
I could get a receiver, but again I was hoping to just get a decent sound...
I have an older Creative xFi soundcard of some type, and an ancient Altec Lansing ACS500 speaker/subwoofer system. This was probably last popular in the '90s sometime.
I have got to think that soundcards and speaker systems have moved on since then, but I am a bit unfamiliar with the best...
Thanks, and it looks like everything for displays are wide now.
Part of me wonders if it would be worthwhile to fix the FP1370, but I am trying to take the opportunity as a chance to move on to the current wide format.
As I said in the title, my monitor has died. It was an awesome monitor for a loonng time.
I am completely new to the latest monitors and looking for something to replace it. I typically play FPS games though that isn't an absolute, I will also fire up FSX every so often and the occasional...
I have used Corsair frequently because it was a quality brand for a good price. It also frequently seemed to be listed as compatible for mobos that were finicky.
Ahh, thanks, yes that was the Coldforge. Now that you mention that I remember it.
And yes, I was wondering what had ever happened to it. Thanks for reminding me - now to rename that file.
I received the new card today.
I just finished installing it and running a FurMark to compare against my first card.
Using the same setup as my first card-
Stability Test
1600x1200
Full Screen
No MSAA Samples
The only differences are the new card and I used the 178.13 drivers...
Thanks for checking that. I just checked the site to see how my claim was doing and found that a replacement has been sent already. I should see that tomorrow or Friday.
When that one gets here we'll see how it does.
Thanks for posting that. My card was seeing significantly higher temps. BFG received my card today and we'll see what happens.
I put a 7950GX2 back into my system while the 280 is out. When running the same FurMark test, the temps never go over 81 degrees C. On course it is also only putting...
Just thought I'd put a little update in.
I went through the email customer support deal.
They recommened that I send the card in. To do that you still need to call the tech guys on the phone for a RMA number to be issued. One thing that I found out after calling the tech was that I should...
Well, I sent an email to BFG to see just what the best way to handle this.
We'll see what they say.
I do have several back-up cards I can put in. The most recent is a 7950GX2. So, pending what I hear from BFG, the plan will be to replace the GTX280 with the 7950GX2 and start going down the...
It hits around the mid-80s C or so.
Edit-
This is why I posted this thread. I'm not sure that this is a problem and want to know what others think before I took the next step.
When playing games the fan escalates as needed. I have not noticed any other issues yet that would tell me that...
There is good case ventilation.
The idle temps are ~42 C.
The psu is a PC power & cooling Turbo Cool 510 SLI (650W peak)
I also have tried running with the side panel off to see if there would be any difference - no change.
Thank you everyone for your help thus far, are there any...
That is why I am concerned and looking for other confirmation. It does get hot. The other part of me wonders how to qualify the temps. If I am hitting these temps running Furmark does that necessarily transfer to a problem playing games - Crysis comes to mind.
I typically game at 1600 x 1200...
I did that. I set the fan to 75 and ran Furmark again. I hit 102 degrees C in 300 seconds. Having it set to auto did better. It took twice as long to get that hot.
Are there any other things I can try?
I have a BFG GTX280. I am using 177.92 drivers.
On Furmark 1.4.0 I got these results:
Stability Test
Full Screen
1600 x 1200
No MSAA Samples
After 600 seconds I have a 102 degree C reading.
Is this okay? I have looked around for other ways to confirm this but my searches didn't work...
Up until the last couple of years my brother took care of my computer and I never really had to deal with any of the stuff involved in migrating from 1 OS to another and keeping things like email. That option is no longer available and I am now looking into learning what is needed to do this...
I use outlook 2003 for email.
I'll have to go through everything to see just what I want to keep.
Are there any sites that would detail out an update of the OS? I was hoping there would be something out there that I could use to help me determine what I'll need to copy to ensure I have...
I'm thinking of going from 32 bit xp to Vista 64. I was thinking of just getting a new drive and installing fresh with Vista. I am just concerned about information I want to keep from my old drive and would like it available on the new Vista setup. Once Vista was up and running, I was hoping to...
I did an admittedly quick search and didn't find an answer for my question.
I have 2 HDDs, C & D. If I just update to Vista on the C, will I need to format the D for Vista to recognize anything on it? Or is the 64 bit stuff limited to the C drive?
My understanding is I will need to...
