Ran across this image on my computer. I am pretty sure I got it from [H]. Anyone remember this?

On my 3rd or 4th nick now at the [H] and been reading since 1998, before Kyle had forums. Can't say I remember it but then again I was prolly too busy playing CS or Red Alert 2 instead of reading every post ;) Although... that looks to be a newer design since the frontal intake is so huge, prior to around 2002 or so, can't say I remember many modders thinking of anything other than box fans for side panels, massive 120mm arrays, 8-12" space fans and centrifugal blowers.
 
I'd have said it's a mock-up rendered in some 3D raytracer, not an actual case.

Obviously that image isn't a real case. AutoCAD renders and the like have been forum staples for a decade now. Seemed to me the OP was just taking a trip down memory lane or perhaps wondering if the design was ever built.
 
Ahh, thanks, yes that was the Coldforge. Now that you mention that I remember it.

And yes, I was wondering what had ever happened to it. Thanks for reminding me - now to rename that file.

WoW. I remember that case and the preproduction buzz it created. Thought more than just two were made but I guess maybe that was some other project by Stiltner? This thread makes me wanna go digging through my old hdds and see what goodies I've got stashed away. I've still never found the folder tracking the ruckus caused by that college kid who started the bong cooler craze. I think that was about the same time IIRC.
 
Some mods on overclocking.net have made a new case for sale now, its a big ass case. Should go check it out or I can post a link to it. I know its not cheap but its for serious builders.

I think you should go with your search idea.

I would have bought one of those cases back then. Pretty intense for what I was doing back in 2001. Hell I'd probably still be using it.
 
Usurper is prolly talking about the Case Labs m8/m10 which were recently posted in this thread. Really, they're just an updated take on the YY cube that's been around for a decade+, but the attention to detail and little features on the case look excellent. The pricing is also amazingly affordable too, given that they're aluminum.
