Hi!
I am new to ESXi. What I want to achieve is automatically install the OS on an x64 hardware from pendrive using Ventoy without having video card, IGP, screen or any kind of display solution. After installing it accessing it via SSH using key based auth on the local network. The hardware...
I bought a MaxCloudON 1x16->2x8 riser from Bulgaria. I'll write about it later. I am waiting for other computer parts, not sure when I will test it out, but it might take another month to finish the computer.
I managed to get a G5 shell, so I can scan it and print something similar. As of the G7 somebody bought it from our IT community just to test and measure it. Looks like they were right and it had severe and inconsistent input lag compared to current wireless gaming mice. I am not sure how I was...
I had some progress. I tried to find a G7 second hand, but even the cheapest ones cost the same as a recent wireless gaming mouse and I don't want to make this kind of nonsense business when all I need is scanning the shape or using the upper part of it. I might be able to get a G5 shell from a...
Microwave travel at light speed, so 1 meter or 2 does not matter, both are practically 0ms extra input lag. Converting the electric signal to microwave and back what can add extra input lag. Another reason can be when the signal is not clear and it is repeated, but I don't think these mice...
Thanks, I have the same experience. I was in our clanbase nations cup team in Enemy Territory back then with this mouse. I did not feel any input lag and I think only people say that it lags who never really tried it.
Somebody told me that modding the G305 is the way to go and Piranha mouse modding is already doing it. They just don't have a mod for G5/G7 yet. I'll ask them, maybe they have a good advice. https://pmm.gg/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4zaMlZWpTmfc-jRviifCiA/videos
I have a better mouse now which requires monthly battery replacement and has a lot better DPI than the G7. I would not go back to replacing the battery twice a day, so buying it isn't really worth it, especially with delivery to Europe, but I'll check, maybe I can find a cheap one second hand...
I try to mod my G603 for the same shape as the G7 had. I just talked about this project with one of my friends who is expert in computer vision and he told me it is not possible to properly restore the shape based on the 2d photos available. I need a sample shell to scan or somebody who can scan...
The G7 lasted 2 years for me and it was the best mouse for me. I mean the shape was great, the 2000 DPI and 200Hz was good enough for gaming and the battery life was something I could live with. What I really liked was the reliability. With the MX510 I had to warmup 2 hours at least, but I had...
No big manufacturer uses the same shape as far as I can tell. Though I am looking for wireless mostly. I need a G7 remake, which had almost the same shape as the MX518, maybe it was somewhat bigger. For me that was the perfect shape, but both my G7s burned down after a few years. Nowadays the...
Wtf. I always thought that it is a problem with the micro switch and I need to replace the switch. I still have an old Razer mouse with this issue, I'll check it. :)
I was thinking on glueing the panels to the G603 instead of printing a complete new shell. It is a lot easier I think, and I don't care much about how it looks like. I never use the side buttons either, so covering them is not a problem.
I did not find any mouse that would meet my criteria in the last 10 years. I doubt I will ever find unless they come back with the G7 updated with new sensors, which I doubt. Other manufacturers do the same, there is no wireless gaming mouse with grooves for the thumb and ring finger. Otherwise...
I have a Logitech G603 and I like the battery time and the sensor, but the shape is really bad compared to an MX510, MX518, G7, G5, G400, etc. Is there a way to replace the outer shell somehow to have a different shape or add a groove for the thumb and make it a little bit wider? I wonder if...
Can we start a topic for this, or is there already? I want to gut my G603 and print something similar to my old G7 or just glue additional profiles to it, maybe that would be simpler.
edit:
Ok, I opened it: https://hardforum.com/threads/mouse-modding.2011113/ I try not to revive this topic...
I don't think the problem is with your memories. Logitech just got this bad. Maybe their engineer died, or idk, but their mice got worse and worse in the past 10 years.
I always revive good topics instead of starting new ones. :p I am still looking for a good replacement of my G7, but haven't found anything. Now I am thinking on modding my G603 and add grooves for the thumb and ring finger. I am not sure if this is possible, I guess it involves 3d printing and...
Try to position your mouse in front of you instead of keeping it on the right side. If you have to, then move your keyboard or buy a 60-70% keyboard. It should help with your shoulder problems somewhat and aiming can be better too unless you hit your keyboard with your mouse. Another issue might...
Low sens has its own drawbacks too. For close combat it does not work when the enemy is moving fast, because you cannot follow it properly. You will always run into your keyboard or out of the mouse pad and you have to lift your mouse and while you are lifting it you are vulnerable for hundreds...
Then I guess I was not lucky with it. I had the same phenomenon with the G510 and G7s. It takes a hot summer day around 40°C and all day playing to burn them down, though maybe they degrade gradually if there is hot, idk. I should have kept them, I could fix them now or just keep the shell and...
I don't like light mice either. People say that it is easier to aim with them, because you have a smaller momentum when you change direction. Or I don't know how they explain it, but I think a too light mouse means that it is easier to move accidentally and it can mean more errors. I believe...
You can replace the cable. I heard that there are flexible cables out there (they are called paracord I think) https://paracablemods.co.uk/, but they lack some safety stuff we have in normal cables. One guy makes them in my country too, but I no longer use my G400. I just kept it for the case I...
Not really my MX510 failed after 2 years. I think it overheated just like the G7s. I was properly addicted to first person shooters back then, and sometimes played 12+ hours a day, so no wonder it did not last long. Sensors were pretty inefficient those times and produced a lot of heat.
G7 was the best mouse ever. I bought 2 of them, all of them burned down after 1-2 years, the sensor produced too much heat. Other than that the shape was perfect. I no longer had to warmup like I needed with wired mice and the accuracy was the best possible in the game I played professionally. I...
I did some calculations with mITX + bifurcation riser card, and it would be at least $200 cheaper if I could go with uATX and 2x8 with two slots. It is very annoying that all manufacturers make small size + 2x8 some sort of challange or server feature and either I buy a server grade bifurcation...
Wow, that is a nice motherboard. Thanks!
I was wondering meanwhile, that maybe it is possible to enable this feature on all uATX boards if the lanes are connected to the CPU, because in theory the CPU does most of the work here and Ryzen support x8/x8. Ofc. if there is no physical connection...
For example in the case of LGA1151 there are a few Asus boards around $200 that support it. https://origin-www.asus.com/Motherboards/TUF-Z390M-PRO-GAMING/specifications/ I don't understand why almost every uATX board supports only x16+x4 or if I would go for mITX + a bifurcation riser instead...
Ok I read the entire topic in the last 3 days. I can answer some of my questions:
1. Do the SATA and M2 SSD-s communicate with the same lanes with the CPU or does the motherboard have sort of extra lanes for them? If so, then how do I know how many extra lanes they use?
-> there are extra lanes...
