Best drain component for custom loop?

Seems like the best place to put a drain tube for cleaning out and draining a loop is at the bottom so that gravity pulls the liquid down. In my case, that position is coming out of the pump. So I figure I'll get a Y fitting for the pump outlet which connects to the rest of the loop and to my...

    Liquid Cooling flow path

Is there an optimal path through components for a liquid cooling setup with 2 GPUs, a CPU, and a 480mm radiator? I was planning on having coolant flow like this: reservoir -> pump -> GPUs -> CPU -> radiator -> reservoir

Best 480 radiator for Thermaltake custom loop?

I'm going with Thermaltake gear for my custom loop, because I have a Thermaltake chassis and their components support ASUS Aura LED sync. Reviews seem very good except for the RL480 radiator. Many people complain that it's made out of zinc alloy aluminum and that can ruin other components in...

Aura RGB reservoir/pump for Core P5

Apparently Thermaltake does support Aura on their reservoir/pump combo, even though it doesn't say so on their webpage listing. http://www.thermaltake.com/content.aspx?id=7814

Aura RGB reservoir/pump for Core P5

Anybody know of a good reservoir/pump combo that has RGB lighting that syncs with ASUS motherboards (using Aura)? This will be in a Thermaltake Core P5 chassis. I found this Enermax that looks great, 400ml, and much less expensive than others. Unfortunately, it looks like commenters are...

Best 480 radiator/fans, reservoir/pump, Ryzen waterblock, fittings, tubing, coolant, and accessories

So helpful Archmage and hitched , thanks! Can I mix parts, like XSPC's RX480 and Bitspower fittings? Is everything pretty standard? I love the idea of quick-disconnects. Do they work on hard tubing?

Best 480 radiator/fans, reservoir/pump, Ryzen waterblock, fittings, tubing, coolant, and accessories

I'm new to custom water cooling and could really use some advice. I'm dizzy from reading everything I can on water cooling and trying to understand which components are best. This is my machine: Case: Thermaltake Core P5 (extra PCI x16 riser cable) CPU: Ryzen 1700X GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2...

    Ryzen 1700X & 2x 1080 Ti's in a custom loop with 480 rad?

Archaea you're making me feel much better about the setup

    Ryzen 1700X & 2x 1080 Ti's in a custom loop with 480 rad?

thesmokingman , in my case the electricity expense is not as important as for other miners. So I do want to overclock GPUs, particularly the memory. How much I use the CPU depends on which coins I mine. I plan on mining different coins at different times.

    Ryzen 1700X & 2x 1080 Ti's in a custom loop with 480 rad?

Thank you for the info thesmokingman . That all makes sense. I'll be using this for mining with occasional gaming (a couple hours maybe once a week). I wasn't aware of QDCs, they look very handy! hitched . I'll keep that in mind about possibly sneaking in another radiator...

    Ryzen 1700X & 2x 1080 Ti's in a custom loop with 480 rad?

I'm new to custom water cooling, so I'm not sure what the tradeoffs are for dual vs single loops. I can imagine that it's easier to replace/add components with a dual loop? With a single loop you have to drain all fluid with any change in components? I'm also guessing that the last component in...

    Ryzen 1700X & 2x 1080 Ti's in a custom loop with 480 rad?

Is it advisable to get a single 480 radiator and reservoir/pump to cool a Ryzen 1700X and 2x EVGA 1080 Ti's in a single loop? Or should I split and have 2 loops with a 240 radiator each (or 120 + 360 radiators)? I would assume to put the 2 GPUs in 1 loop and the CPU in another? This is on a...

Quad 1080 Ti GPUs and Threadripper on same loop?

I think I'm just going to buy another open air case and split the 4 graphics cards between the 2.

Quad 1080 Ti GPUs and Threadripper on same loop?

Thank you for the feedback! Adding an extra pump in-line somewhere sounds easy. Adding another 480 rad doesn’t sound easy... where could I put it on a Core P90 case? Would I need a second reservoir too? I don’t think there’s room for a second reservoir, though I’m sure I could figure something out.

Quad 1080 Ti GPUs and Threadripper on same loop?

I'm putting together a machine with 4x EVGA 1080 Ti GPUs and a Threadripper 1920X, all water cooled. Can I put all 5 components on the same loop? I'll be using a Thermaltake Core P90 case with room for 480mm of fans/radiator. Is that sufficient? If not, what can I do to water cool all 5 components?
