Louis Rossman receives 3 strikes for promoting new open source app that threatens youtube's monopoly

dogbone getting destroyed lol. He has absolutely no idea who Louis Rossman is and how important he is for us consumers who love electronics and DIY. Many ignorance, much wow. Going after beloved members of the community is not a good look for YT.

    New Unity pricing

Wow. Why would they do this? Aren't they losing ground left and right to UE5 already? Its like they are speedrunning their way to get everyone to leave Unity and have no income at all

Jedi Survivor is the best showcase of a looming problem for PC players

Dang a 4090 struggling? Not having DLSS is not great but FSR2 is an ok alternative that works good enough. (I personally don't care about upscaling or nitpicking between the two) Missing Ray tracing features sounds like a necessity if a 4090 is already struggling lol. 155GB install, sadly par...

AMD vs Intel: Which CPUs Are Better

I count 19 motherboards at less than $200. Took me less than 5 mins. Not everything needs x670... Also, at least at the high end, Intel using double the power or more is embarrassing. If you want the "best" CPU, I think what brand you go with depends more on the amount of money you have to...

"How We Test: CPU Benchmarks, Misconceptions Explained", aka "why you don't want to be GPU-limited when doing CPU testing"

I guess people don't like the idea of using a traditionally "GPU benchmark", changing up the settings, and using it as a CPU benchmark.

"How We Test: CPU Benchmarks, Misconceptions Explained", aka "why you don't want to be GPU-limited when doing CPU testing"

The Windows Scheduler has some flaws, its not terrible by any means, but I wouldn't describe it as "really good", as prioritizing foreground apps should be one of the most simple things for a scheduler to do and is a low bar to hit. I don't play games much these days, but I do like to run a lot...

If by tangible FPS differences, you mean better lows, then yes. Less so if you have CPU to spare Helps especially for borderline CPU bottlenecked setups. See the Steam Deck with Windows for example...

I also want to leave this here: One thing that an alarmingly large number of users forget (even me), is that these reviewers are running "lean" "barebones" windows installs. Just enough software to run the games and capture the data they need. How many of us keep our systems that lean??? How...

So for gaming, why does anyone spend more that what a 3600 costs??? You get 94.5% perf of the latest 13900k. /s Also I would love to see a Quake3 bench lol

"How We Test: CPU Benchmarks, Misconceptions Explained", aka "why you don't want to be GPU-limited when doing CPU testing"

10+ more FPS compared to what? 120? The user in question is at 75hz, unless its less than 75FPS then there isn't that much to gain. (there are SOME benefits to higher fps than monitors refresh though if you are a competitive gamer though... ) The user is clearly fine with a hypothetical i3, so...

"How We Test: CPU Benchmarks, Misconceptions Explained", aka "why you don't want to be GPU-limited when doing CPU testing"

Well, it won't take much to run 4K 75hz if you're only into gaming. You can get that FPS with a i3, no sense spending more for no benefit, but i'm guessing you have something better than that...

"How We Test: CPU Benchmarks, Misconceptions Explained", aka "why you don't want to be GPU-limited when doing CPU testing"

I think we are just having a hard time understanding your opinion on this topic as you disagree with not just HUB, but the entire hardware review media, for gaming focused audiences. It doesn't make sense to skip the "gaming" portions of CPU reviews as that is just more data to backup whether...

"How We Test: CPU Benchmarks, Misconceptions Explained", aka "why you don't want to be GPU-limited when doing CPU testing"

I guess you entirely miss the point of testing games at low resolutions then. The entire point is to isolate CPU performance. It is not a "game benchmark". Think of it as a "CPU benchmark" like Cinebench R23 and such. Because "games" are tested in CPU reviews, people get all up in arms about...

Crypto Miners Paint GDDR Memory Chips to Hide Wear and Tear

I'd honestly take a card that was run 24/7 rather than a gamer who plays everyday and shuts down their computer at night/daily. Usually miner cards are given some great cooling/airflow. The only thing I would be worried about would be the custom BIOS running out of spec memory timings when I get...

AMD 7900 GPU series reviews are up.

I had no idea WoW could be such a fast paced game, I've only ever seen my wife and MIL play it. I would think that CPU would play a much larger role in WoW being a MMORPG, although having raytracing probably makes it more GPU bound I guess. Only game I've ever played really competitively is...

AMD 7900 GPU series reviews are up.

Driver improvements over time are not "mythical". Cards with more compute power and memory tend to age better with driver improvements. Not to mention this is the first "chiplet" GPU, i'm sure there are plenty of improvements to be made over time. Same thing happens each and every console...

Ai Bots that can do School Homework

Well yeah, i'm not surprised. If you straight copy paste its output without understanding it you will be in a world of trouble as it very often spits out code that looks like it will work, but won't when you run it. However, it gets you most of the way there. For example, it couldn't after...

Nvidia RTX 4090 power connectors melting?

I'm sure the loads you work with are more constant than what happens in the RC world. They also don't move. Nvidia RTX 4090 power connectors melting?

Oh they are plenty flexible if the individual wire strands are thinner in the wires, but would require a few changes for PSU manufacturers. Or keep the same 18awg wires but combine them all at the connector lol. (Jk) Seriously though, other people have already done the hard work of designing...

Nvidia RTX 4090 power connectors melting?

Well no surprise that DLSS runs better than FSR on your NVidia GPU. Just like FSR runs better on RDNA 2 than RDNA1 and Nvidia cards. Also, you should check your own posts... Back on topic, I hope AMD doesn't waste resources on frame generation tech like DLSS 3. To me that just seems like a...

People act like FSR2 doesn't exist. I myself am still on a RX 5700 and it can handle my UE5 projects that use Lumen fine at 1080p. Although Lumen can be accelerated by DXR hardware which I don't have. I even have room for a 20% overclock using mpt and haven't really needed it yet

For AMD to be "on par" it has to be at least 5% faster in every game and no losses while being cheaper.... Kidding aside, the only part where the 6000 series struggles is if you turn on RT, and don't have FSR to help you. If you don't play anything with ray tracing, then you're good!
