    Mixing sets of RAM

The 1600Mhz RAM has XMP but I haven't enabled it yet: I think I will stick with the 16GB but keep the 8GB and install them again in case I need more ram in the future.

    Mixing sets of RAM

Thanks, so the question is: is 24GB 1333Mhz better than 16GB 1600Mhz ? The higher frequency makes almost no difference in applications, and the extra 8GB RAM I'm not that likely to use. I use quite a lot of RAM because I tend to multitask a lot, but I don't think I'd go over 16GB.

    Mixing sets of RAM

So I have 2x4GB ram at 1333Mhz and I decided to upgrade to 2x8GB 1600Mhz. Just to test, I put both sets in, each in it's own dual channel, and it seems to be working fine, except for the whole thing working at 1333Mhz, which was expected. I did some benchmarks and I can't see the performance...

What type of defect is this

It appears that the dark area covers a bit more than 1 pixel, does anyone has any idea what is going on ?

What type of defect is this

That's the first thing I did. It is really weird, the pixel seems to be working but it appears as dead due to extremely reduced brightness.

What type of defect is this

It appeared today though, it wasn't there when I purchased it 6 months ago.

What type of defect is this

Hello, I want to identify the type of defect that this is. The monitor is Dell P2414H, IPS LED At first it looks like a dead pixel, but upon close inspection it looks like it just has reduced brightness: http://i.imgur.com/maZ1JdB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/smAP54e.jpg...

Samsung 850 Evo performance problems with AHCI

So the standard AHCI Windows 7 driver has high CPU interrupts (25-30%) while doing a high IOPS activity. The newest AMD AHCI driver has 30% Interrupts at all times. The fairly old AMD AHCI driver from the motherboard's website has 2-3% interrupts max, but unless I check "Turn off Windows write...

Samsung 850 Evo performance problems with AHCI

So I have an 850 Evo 120GB running on a SATA 2 AMD system with AHCI and a fairly old chipset (760G) on Windows 7 64 bit. The IOPS are around 30k and the top speeds are about 250MB/s which is fine by me (SATA 2 after all), assuming everything else works fine. The drive is about 65% full. TRIM is...

    Dell P2414H

A few times every day or just on some days 2-3 times and on others no restart at all ? If it was bad capacitors it would have failed by now. I think it's a software problem. Also do you have an Nvidia GPU with DVI ? Does anyone with an AMD GPU have this issue ?

    Core unlocking with AM3+

Are you sure about this ?

    Core unlocking with AM3+

So I'm guessing all 900 series chipsests have poor core unlocking support. Problem is, all I can find is either 970/990FX/990X or 760G. I know form experience that 760G supports unlocking, but all 760G boards I can find are crappy mATX HTPC boards with 2 RAM slots and 1 or 2 PCI-E slots. The...

    Core unlocking with AM3+

Maybe it's a problem only with Gigabyte, what about the other manufacturers ? For example, ASUS M5A97 EVO seems to have this function in the UEFI, but is it working ? I know this option is removed form the REV 2.0 version but what about the 1.0 ?

    Core unlocking with AM3+

So what you are saying is that I can't upgrade the motherboard with this CPU ?

    Core unlocking with AM3+

So I have an Athlon II X3 unlocked to Phenom II X4 and overclocked to 3.3Ghz on stock voltage. It is still useful to me so I will not be upgrading it. However, my motherboard is causing damage to the other components (this thread) so I will be replacing it. The problem is, I've heard that most...

PSU causing damage to PCI-E pins ?

So my best bet is to just replace the motherboard ? I find it really odd that it only happens on 2 specific pins. Also I thought gold didn't corrode. And would the corroded pins on the old devices cause damage to the new motherboard ? I would probably not be able to get a replacement motherboard...

PSU causing damage to PCI-E pins ?

Something in my PC is causing damage to the PCI-E pins and I think these are the power supply pins. Example: The graphics card I've had for about a year: The sound card I've had for about 3 years is in a significantly worse shape, pretty much the entire gold coating of these exact 2 pins is...

    Blue shapes on gray background

I think it may be a temporary burn-in of the picture I'm viewing since it's changing. Does this happen with IPS panels often ? For example, I ran a video on it and now I can't see the above picture.

    Blue shapes on gray background

Hello. Does anybody know what is this ? http://i.imgur.com/dCpAwGL.jpg If you look carefully you can see blue shapes on the gray background. It only ever appears on gray background and it's very, very hard to see. I will not be returning the monitor due to this unless it gets worse, so my...

    Dell P2414H

I seem to have the turning off problem too, DVI. I don't have DisplayPort on the graphics card. Would it work if I get a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and connect the monitor to the GPU from the DisplayPort interface to the computer's HDMI interface ? How often does the turn on/off issue happen...
