Nah, the 3090 Ti draws more. I’m only seeing up to 350w in most games at 4K max settings. The highest I have seen is Cyberpunk pulling 400w with RT maxed out at 4K. This is with a 5.4-5.6GHz 7700X.
I don't want to derail this thread too much, but I've compiled my results. Some games see some impressive gains - CP2077 (No RT), RB6 Extraction, and WDL (No RT)
Decent gains just from using some cheap vipers B-Die. Of course nobody should be using an 2600X with a 3090 :) - Still, the test shows...
Funny you mention this as I’m currently testing a 2600X with an RTX 3090. Mostly testing the effect of memory latency when CPU bottlenecked. Going from 3200 CL16 to 3533 CL14 I’m seeing on AVG around a 10% increase in performance at 1080p. Obviously those numbers would dwindle at the resolution...
I’m a 4K gamer as well so I doubt the 7700X will make a huge difference, but I’d be curious to see you run an in game benchmark at 1080p & 1440p ultra settlings. Stock vs. 5500 MHz and 5700 MHz.
There’s a shadow of the Tomb raider demo on steam you can use. You could also use the CP2077 built...
Same thing TPU said:
In gaming, Zen 4 can also deliver. At 1080p, the 7700X is the fastest Zen 4 processor for gaming—yes, even faster than the 7950X. The underlying reason is that the 7900X and 7950X use a dual-CCD design, where the processor's computation ability is spread across two silicon...
I have an ASUS X670E-E Gaming WiFi on order, but Amazon is saying it won’t ship until November. I can grab the AsRock X670E Taichi Carrara today….what do you guys think? I’m interested in tweaking the memory and I’ve heard AsRock might not be the greatest in that case.
I’m aiming for 5.5GHz as well. I’m new to current AMD CPUs, so what exactly did you do to get there?
I also purchased a kit of CL32 6400 MT/s memory. I know the sweet spot is 6000 but I wanted to see if there’s any gains if I push it.
Is this what you used? If so, it’s an extremely rough estimate that’s based on theoretical performance and not actual performance. You can probably determine that looking at where the 590 and 6990 sit in the lineup.
Just looking at that graph and at first glance it already looks off. The 8800 GTX was the biggest gain in performance vs. previous gen period. Anywhere from 50-100% over the 7900 GTX. The 285 to 480 looks a tad low as well. Still have to go through the rest...
Hello,
I have some used items that I’d like to sell. I accept PayPal and my Heatware is Face2Face. Must have heat if you’re wanting to do business. USPS shipping to the US48 included in the price.
ASUS P7P55D PRO LGA SOCKET 1156 MOTHERBOARD With X3440 Xeon CPU. This doesn’t include the I/O...
Now try the Temples and Totems map and play with 24 render chunks at 1440p and come back and tell me about that 100 FPS 😅
Also, check out that VRAM usage/allocation
Just trying out Minecraft RTX beta. At 1440p with the render chunks maxed out at 24 - DLSS 2.0 almost doubles the frame rate with nearly the same visuals as native. That said, the game is beast maxed out in beta. Some maps perform great, while others like this one are very demanding.
Hello,
I have some slightly used ITX components that I no longer have a use for. I only used them for a review and never used long term.
