mine was found in disk management and I just had to give it a label and then format it. Unfortunately there is pretty much no way to install windows because lenovo thought it would be a great idea to not include a windows 8 product key with this laptop.
I fixed it by making a bootable USB drive for win8 and then going through the automatic boot fixing thing on there (can't remember what it's called) but at first I thought it didn't work because it gave me errors saying it didn't fix anything. Then I tried booting back into win8 and voila...
Hi, I've run into a bit of a problem since I got my new 3TB HDD to use in my main computer. The 3TB drive works perfectly fine when I use it along side my 1.5TB drive, and I spent all last night backing up my 1.5TB drive to my 3TB so that I may give my 1.5TB drive to my brothers as they need...
Just wanted to say that the build quality on this laptop is much better than I expected, and man is it Sexy. The screen is very nice as well, it only seems to distort color when looking at it from the bottom at an extreme angle. All other angles the screen is perfect.
Also, I overclocked the...
Hmm, two questions then, first where did you order the screw from? I need to order one too. Also, any idea if the msata slot is sata III or sata II? I've heard both things, and I really hope it is sata III.
It ended up coming back in stock early this morning and I placed an order.
Entitlement? I asked if they would extend the promo, and it took them a very long time to tell me no. Then they offered to compensate me for it anyways because of the long time it took to give me an answer. I was very...
Well, I had a stroke of great and then terrible luck.
So I called CS and asked if they would extend the promo, they said no but it took them like an hour to tell me that. So, they gave me store credit as compensation for my time, and they ended up giving me $30 credit. (same as the coupon so...
Unfortunately I believe the Y500 uses a special type of ultrabay that makes it simply snap into place, and it is quite a bit larger than a regular ultrabay (as it can also be used to add a second graphics chip into the laptop).
I'm going to have to take a closer look tomorrow though and check...
Could you try getting the msata slot visible? Or take pictures of what you can see? I'm trying to purchase an SSD for this laptop but I can't get a 2.5" drive because lenovo (according to their phone sales rep) wont have ultrabays available for at least two-three weeks, so I guess I'm getting an...
Just spoke to a sales rep from lenovo who said that the ultrabay slots won't be available for another 2-3 weeks at best, so msata is the way to go unless I can go without my 1TB drive for a while.
I think there is a different type of SSD that connects to a mini PCIe slot, or is 1.8" in size or something along those lines. I've heard there are different types of connections (small form factor) but that MSATA should work in any MSATA slot.
Hi, I'm in the market currently for an MSATA SSD for my laptop. I'm looking for something anywhere from 64GB to 240/256GB depending on price. 128GB may be a sweet spot for me though, but I'll consider any offers!
Since I don't have much in the way of HW feedback (I've got OCN/Ebay feedback) I...
This is one of the reasons I made the switch to 7970 (after owning a 670 for some time). Voltage control just allows for so much more headroom if you've got adequate cooling. The 670 DCUII version was a beautiful card, and build quality was superb, but I wasn't getting the core overclocks that I...
Q9550 is a very capable chip (I had one for about two years) and no single card will bottle neck it these days (apart from maybe a 690/7990). As far as better frame-rate through a single card versus double, it is because of greater performance per clock, increases in frequencies, higher number...
If you get a 32" 720p screen, make sure that there is no (I think it's called overscaling? something along those lines) which causes some bad distortion/blurriness which would make reading things on a 720p screen absolutely terrible, compounding with any sight issues you may have.
Is there ever going to be an MSATA version of this SSD? I hear nothing but great reviews about it, but alas I'm not in the market for a 2.5" SSD rather a 1.8" MSATA SSD.
Pentium 4 3.2 ghz HT
Intel Q9550 OC 3.8ghz
i5-2500k OC 4.7ghz
I built a couple computers in between there but only used them for a short while before giving them away.
Most graphics cards get a performance bump from a physx card so long as the physx card has over 96 cores, so using a GPU with 240 cores will surely give you a bump in performance. But one thing to consider is that if you are getting a performance bump due to a physx card, but the extra heat...
I'm pretty sure you are fine, 54C is a normal load temperature and some processors will inherently run cooler than others. I know that under watercooling my heavily OC'd 2500k runs at around 50C during pirime95. It's safe up to around 80c for 24/7 use, anything above that you might want to get...
This friday when I finally get my grubby hands on my laptop I'm going to have to take out the CD drive and see what can be done about replacing it to install a 2.5" SSD.
On a side note for updating firmware, is it safe to update the firmware of two SSD's in RAID0? Or will I have to re-install everything on them and re-create the array?
What we really need is some Road Rash to come to modern gaming... man what I would give for a new version of that. It combined racing, motorcycles, and freaking violence.
If you want a good card for high res, 7970 ghz is the way to go. Single 1440p and 1080p monitor for browsing should definitely be okay on a 2GB card, definitely not worth going for the 4GB version unless it's cheaper than a 7970.
Whenever I think of farming simulator all I can think of is run escape and that is very off-putting. I'm at work now so no YouTube videos for me but what is this game's 'goal'? Do you just drive around harvesting things?
Might be the monitor? Try using the monitor with another PC and see if the same problem occurs. Also you can try a different DVI slot if you've got one. It's fixed many a problem for me before.
Depends what you use the 'lounge' pc for. Gaming? 580. Only video/browsing? 650.
Also as an added bonus, if you put the 580 in your other PC the 650 would make a nice cool physx card to run along-side your 680. Or, you could always just sell it. (or whichever one you decide you don't want to use)
I'm not sure if TV's are necessarily well equipped to handle frames that aren't 'normal' video-content frame-rates. (24, 30, 60fps). Might be something to look in to.
