Ok, so I got a Alienware M17 R4 that is about 1yr old. It has the Killer 1535 in it. I have Gigabit service at home and lately my wireless is only getting between 175Mb and 250Mb. So I tried with brand new cat 6 cable and it will only get those speeds also. Only in safe mode with networking...

It will work just fine for that. Running a G3220 and it worked fine. If you run plex server and are going to be streaming to multiple devices you'll need something that has a lot better passmark score.

Try living in Alaska. Until recently slow internet and low caps. I have been up here since 2000 and have always had data caps. Now we finally got pretty good service. Gigabyte service with 1 Tb a month but for $175 a month.

Lucky. I pay $134 a month and only get 500gb. next step up is $175

If going to a movie and buying a movie wasn't so damn much this would not be a problem.
