Silverstone SG06: Power & Hard Drive LED's TOO DAMNED BRIGHT!

I cut the two led cables and put a 100k Ohm trim potentiometer (variable resistor) in and can adjust exactly to the brightness I needed. So 100k Ohm is (after some trying) the right number, and they cost some cents. Actually everything between 70 and 120k Ohm should do fine. best regards mariachi76

    mITX build. Need some advice.

The PSU-fan was facing downwards, but taking air from inside the case. So the aifrolo was: Geminii->CPU-Fan blowing upwards blowing into the PSU-fan->PSU-> outside. But the PSU got too hot. 2. Isn't the cpu fan supposed to blow the air into the heatsing and in the mainboard? Well, either way...

    mITX build. Need some advice.

Hi, I had SG06 a I7-2600K on the Zotac H67-ITX and a AMD 6850 with a Coolermaster GeminII Swith PSU-fan blowing upwards into the PSU. GeminII S is about as good as the prolimatech samuel. My config uses about 250W under full load (8xprime and furmark). However, the PSU got extremely hot at...

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

Another PSU (450W ST45SF) is on the way. I think the PSU simply overheated with the high load, and the CPU fan blowing the hot air directly into the PSU. If I plug the PSU into the socket and turn it on, the fuse blows -> I guess it is the PSU not the mobo/gpu. However, I hope the mobo/gpu...

If you bend the GeminII S just a little bit with your hands it doesn't block the PCIe for example on the Zotac H67-ITX. Just need some insulation in between. regards mariachi76

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

I just built a SG06-300W system with a Zotac H67-ITX, a I7-2600K and an MSI 6850. I made a full load test with Prime and Furmark together, and after about 2 minutes the PSU shut down and is dead now. PSU-Fan was facing down, and it seems the hot air of the CPU-cooler/fan was too much for it. I...

    Sandforce SSD in Raid 0

Hello, I am thinking about making a raid 0 with two OCZ Vertex 3 120gb drives. I would use an onboard JMicron 36x 6GB/s SATA controller. However, I am not sure if real-life performance is much better than with a single drive. Also the unability to use the strip command might be an issue...

    Downsizing mATX?

Which CPU cooler are you using? Cooler dimensions might further limit your choice. A cheap µ-atx is here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Compucase-6T10-Mini-Tower-Chassis-Support-Micro-ATXM-B-/320682464063?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopComponents_RL&hash=item4aaa2a133f regards mariachi76

New build: Lian Li-PC-Q08, ZOTAC H67 itx

It depends on the plastic. With a part of a PET-bottle (your normal coke bottle) you should do fine. It melts above 230°C, and your CPU cooler probably wont get hotter than 80°C.

New build: Lian Li-PC-Q08, ZOTAC H67 itx

Whatever plastic/foam you have lying around. You just have to avoid any short circuit on your graphics card caused by the heat pipes.

New build: Lian Li-PC-Q08, ZOTAC H67 itx

I don't have the zotac board yet, but I do have the geminii and did lots of measurements. It should fit by about half a millimeter :-). But if needed you can slightly bend the cooler. So in total: Yes, you can make it fit, and i think it is the best cooler for that board. You can also use the...

I would flip the PSU anyway. I plan to use a geminII or a geminII S (have both at home). I will remove the 8cm fan of the psu, cut away most of the fan grill and put a 12cm fan into the PSU (with half of it being out of the PSU). or The latter one (GeminII) might be a bit more difficult...

Looks good. But a hdd is 5.75 inches long, so the "about" part of the 6 inches could be important :-). You mean like that? If there is enough space between the cooler and the right side (as should be with the layout of most 1155/1156 itx boards with cpu socket close th PCIe), it might work. Did anybody ever try that? Or could somebody measure that? regards mariachi76
  32. M

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

Thanks, you helped me a lot. This means that a 3,5" hdd will not fit there since it is 102 mm broad. Mabe if I mod the front (make a hole so the side of the hdd is basically outside. This might work in an SG06 with the larger front.) Its a pity, because in the standard position, the hdd...

Any Sandy Bridge m-ITX coming? Any news?

Thats what I am saying. You can only increase BCLK, but this affects all the system (Memory, PCIe...) and you will run into stability issues very soon. With multiplier changes, an i7-2600K would go up to 5.0 GHz with appropriate air cooling. However, H67 does not support multiplier changes...

Any Sandy Bridge m-ITX coming? Any news?

The H67 can not really overclock. You can just increase the frequency about 3 to 5 %, risking an unstable system. But you can not change the multiplier of the CPU with a H67 board, which is the way a Sandy Bridge CPU needs to be overclocked. regards mariachi76
