Around 6 hours in and playing on hard mode. So far not seeing the painted surfaces makes everything more immersive. Some of these jungle environments are excellent, I haven't felt this way about a jungle since the original Crysis. Graphics look great overall, can't wait to play some more of...
I preordered the standard edition last week, can't wait to start playing, hopefully on Thursday night.
Reviews seem mixed but good overall. Probably a solid 8/10 at the very least.
You can grab a Ni No Kuni 2 Steam key on Razer's new store for $45.90 using code RGSLAUNCH15, also included are:
$15 voucher to the Razer game store
$10 hardware voucher

You can get Far Cry 5 on Uplay for the same price.
I'd guess half of my kills were stealth kills. So I'd say it's a viable way of completing the game, on higher difficulties it's probably the best way. There's a whole skill tree devoted to stealth and a new arrow type that acts as a smoke bomb. The more open environments means you can avoid a...
I also finished the first game on the hardest (not Akuma) initial difficulty. I really enjoyed the first game as well, the main difference is that the first game is a much more linear experience. With the exception of a couple of chapters you are constantly moving forward and experiencing new...
I just beat the Evil Within 2 on nightmare difficulty, it took me around 21 hrs. Overall I really enjoyed it, the first third is good, the middle third loses some momentum as the environment doesn't change much and your mostly doing the same things as the first third, but the final third is...
From what I've been reading experienced players should play on Nightmare difficulty, it's about on par with normal on the first one. Those looking for a casual experience can choose normal.
Gamespot 8/10
I have Evil Within 2 preloaded and ready to go, less than 24 hrs from release. I'm in the mood for some nice survival horror action on Fri the 13th. Early buzz from several sites seem to be positive. I'm hoping it reviews well, Bethesda seems to have forgotten about this title and are mostly...
Just picked up the ASrock Z370 Extreme4, $155 after $10 mail in rebate. Seems to have the same OC ability as most of the other boards in the ASrock line but I don't pay for any of the extras that I don't need.
Here's a 1440p video showing some gameplay
I don't understand why so many companies put out their gameplay trailers at what looks like 720p Youtube quality.
I don't follow free sync monitors much but I heard some good things about the Nixeus EDG 27. Should be available in Europe some time this year. Might be worth a look if your ok with risking a lesser known company.
I picked up the bundle, couldn't resist at this price.
Elite Dangerous is looking like one of the best VR experiences around if your into that sort of thing,
Now I just need to upgrade my graphics card.
According to Oculus, they won't have a revision until 2019.

This feels more like Oculus is trying to gain market share on Vive.
Pretty meh deals as expected, I still might pick some things up,
Things I'm considering,
Hollow Knight
Salt and Sanctuary
Helldivers
Transistor
Halycon 6 Base Commander
Possible Rogue One spoiler if you haven't watched the movie.
I still look forward to the big Steam sales but without daily and flash deals I really haven't bought much the past couple of years.
I was a big fan of the first one, hoping the 2nd is just as good or better. October should be a great month for gaming, there can never be enough quality survival horror games.
IGN Score: 4
Gamespot Score: 6
These are pretty low for what I consider an 8-9 game. I'm about 20 hrs in and still having fun exploring Talos and optimizing my character's build. The story has been slow after the explosive intro but it's starting to get interesting again towards the end. I...
I'm loving this game so far. There are some minor quibbles, like having to manually edit the cfg file to adjust the FOV, not having the medkit be able to be hotkeyed, not being able to click on some buttons on the menu etc...
Overall though it feels a lot like a modern Bioshock, never played...
Forgot that Bethesda doesn't allow early reviews anymore, was actually trying to check for the embargo date lol. Doesn't matter, I' already have it pre-ordered for a good price. I can't imagine them messing this up bad enough to want a refund.
Is it just my imagination or are the faces better after the the Origin update and Nvidia day 1 driver? I played a few hours and was actually fine with the faces, maybe a placebo effect or lowered standards. So far I'm on Eos and having fun with the game. I hate the way the character controls...
For those who are subbed it seems you can play the 10 hrs Origin Access trial early, starting at 2:30pm PST today.

Rock, Paper Shotgun has a negative preview up,

Borderlands 3 will be using UE4
It looks like they are still in early development, if we're really lucky we could see it at fall 2018. Although a 2019 release date is more likely imo.
Massive studio, makers of The Division is making an Avatar game using the Snowdrop engine.
A game in the same vein as Horizon: Zero Dawn but in the Avatar universe could be cool.
