Borderlands 3 Tech Demo Video

Basically they do a under drawing like Inking in Comic Books and put the color on top.

After Borderlands and BL2, I'm burnt out.

If they add a story and stay away from the Gimmicks of some of the DLC had I think it could be a good game. Maybe add something besides Fetch Quests.
They should take the game seriously instead of adding Crater of Badassatitude to everything. The DLC for Borderlands 2 was borderline insane I stopped after the Tiny Tina DLC.

I think what made Borderlands 1 good the DLC was done just right for Borderlands 2 they just added whatever they wanted....which was OK but it gave players a bad taste of what the game was suppose to be.

Yeah, the BL2 DLC was straight up ridiculous.

As a visual effects guy and professional 3D artist, this is cool, but not new. A lot of this stuff can be done in UE3 (Hell, I did a similar thing nearly 10 years ago for a mutator for Unreal Tournament 3), It's really nothing crazy special.

In fact, there are some things that I didn't especially like with the shadowing, but those are all down to artistic choice.

I don't think the takeaway is supposed to be that its new and cutting edge or "Wow look how far we've come since Crysis a decade ago", but its more about the progression of the Borderlands art style, which I guess you can either love or hate. I love it.

Also glad that this is more or less a confirmation of more Borderlands material coming -- I really preferred the look of Borderland 1's "wandering in a desert wasteland' earth-toned and grungy art style and mood to the overdriven candyland graphics of BL2, so hopefully this demo is a sign of a return to BL1's art style -- and BL1's loot system!

Borderlands 1 is still in my Top5 of all time.

I never played Tales of or the DLC for Borderlands 2, but I loved every second of Borderlands 1 (+ the DLC) and 2. I'll buy a 3rd game on day 1 if they stick to the same or a similar formula.

I'm glad they aren't going to rush this. This series needs something new and fresh and I say that a fan of those games.

I feel exactly the same way. I've played all of the BL games a few times over and while they are fun....they are very draining. Looking forward to something new and fresh with the series.

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragons Keep was killer and worth the season pass alone. Best Borderlands DLC hands down. Play it

But Tiny Tina is soooo fucking annoying! Does she die?

I tried three times to play BL2, but I kept loosing interest. At this point I am progressed far enough where the enemies are sort of challenging but I don't remember the mechanics much. So I feel like restarting, but don't want to. That and going back and fourth through the same areas fighting the same enemies over and over again is horrible. Every time you go to or from Sanctuary (or whatever the walled city is called), you have to fight a bunch of enemies. I really enjoyed the first game, and the General Knoxx (?) DLC was amazing to. BL2 just feels like you spend too much time looking over weapons and doing the same crap over and over again. Ironically, Far Cry 2 was panned because of it. At least the weapons had some good variety to change up clearing the same outposts time and time again (flame thrower, mortar FTW).

If BL3 is more like BL1, smaller in scale and more focused I'll be interested. And perhaps add a worthwhile story?

If you like Telltale games in general it's a lot of fun. Closest thing I could compared it to is Firefly. You can usually find it dirt cheap too during the big holiday sales.

Honestly, I haven't blown away by graphics in a long time. Maybe cause DX12 hasn't done much to improve graphics like DX11 did. I think Uncharted 4 a console game was the last game I played where I thought to myself wow this looks good.

Playing BF1 maxed out at 4k for some reason doesn't impress me that much. Dont get me wrong, looks amazing but just not blown away by it

BL2 was straight up exhausting. The terrible drop rates for decent weapons was just ridiculous, and the DLC was a miserable slog of fetch quests and bullet sponges. I couldn't even finish the first one, and I bought the season pass. The pre-sequel was nothing but fetch quest after fetch quest, it was maddening. After three games, the humor is so worn out and been pushed so over the top, it isn't even clever or funny anymore, it's just obnoxious (fuck you tiny Tina and torgue, you suck). I absolutely loved the first game, but the series has gone downhill severely since then. They better bring something really fresh and new to the table for pt 3, because I can't take another second of fart jokes and fetch quests.

I enjoyed the BL series. BL2 more than BL1. I absolutely disliked the Prequel game though. I hope they don't do something like that again. I'm looking forward to what they do with BL3.

I like BL1 an 2 and most of the DLCs for them

pre-sequel had some neat ideas but was just too slow and grindy, couldn't play it for long

Seen this a few days ago had to turn up the volume on it.

Well, I guess you gotta respect the man for admitting that they could churn out money grabs, but they want to make a better game instead. Hopefully he's being honest.

so far they have, so as long as they stick to what they've done with their previous BL games i'm fine with it. i'm also a huge fan of the art style in the game.

Hey the majik man did anything thing to stay on top and guess what Borderlands 2 is still being played by droves on Steam.
