Just an update;
Ending up attacking the thing with a screwdriver, the black cover came off revealing a small metal screw that is stuck in the pcb, couldnt remove this so I gave up.
Booted the PC up in the morning out of sleep and happy to report the beeping is gone even with the temps...
No way to disable this sound alarm according to the manual, so it'll have to be ripped out. I should have done this ages ago lol.
Oh and thanks for the tip, I will try to find some pliers if possible.
This fan controller makes a beeping sound when it thinks the fans have been disconnected (in reality they're just spinning on low or off if the temps are cool enough).
Easiest solution for me is to just take out the thing that makes the sound, its a standard beep but its so damn loud.
Do any...
yeah this is what i thought, so i just wanted to know if dolby digital live with the astros+mixamp would produce better quality than dolby headphone with the stx+good cans.
i think the latter will be the better option so im looking into headphones now
Out of the two below which do you think would produce the best sound quality (5.1 movies/games mostly). Or is there no difference?
Pair of great headphones + Dolby Headphone setting
vs
Astro Headset + Mixamp + Dolby Digital Live setting
i know its a year late but can anybody give me a simple 4.4ghz oc for an i7 2600k, i used the auto tuner and its stable but it gave me a max voltage of 1.392 which i feel is too high even though its offset.
i'd just like an everyday 4.4ghz with a safe voltage and clocking everything down when...
Seem to be doing all my work on my laptop and using my monitor solely for games and movies.
If i were to upgrade, what is the best screen available for these two things?
Anybody have any ideas as to when we'll get to see this?
From what i can tell Dell usually out a new 30" every 2-3 years or so
- 3007WFP - 2005?
- 3008WFP - 2007 or 2008?
- U3011 - september 2010
So is it likely that they'll be a new one out later this year, if so i might as well wait and
see...
thanks for explaining all this man, both my 580s are running at pcix8 - do you think this could be causing some sort of slowdown in regards to bandwidth?
especially with my res and the amount of aa we're talking about, this could be the bottleneck.
ssaa is too taxing on most of the stuff im gonna be playing as its all pretty new, i have plenty of VRAM but the actual gpu is too slow (you mentioned shader throughput was bottlenecking it).
i think im going to stick with 16-32x msaa with trssaa instead of just 8xS.
surely 32x msaa+8xtrssaa...
ok last question, enabling any type of SSAA like 4-16xS or 4x4/2x2 etc is too much for the gpu probably because of my resolution, at lower levels its still playable but fps dips at points.
so would it be better to just go with the highest options in nivida control panel, e.g 32x aa with 8x...
ah i get it, here is some stuff in my backlog which i will play pretty soon and a few games i play regularly. i bump the settings to the max on every title @ 2560x1600. just need to hit 60fps.
- crysis 2
- dragon age 2
- bulletstorm
- half life 2
- crysis warhead
- civ 5
- shogun 2
- ac...
im back, so 2 cards each have 3gb vram and i play at 2560x1600.
what would you recommend AA wise at my res, considering the amount of vram i have?
also using sgssa my vram useage doesn't increase that much, however gpu useage hits about
70-80% at times, but fps takes a big hit. why is this...
thanks for the info, i have 3GB of VRAM on 2x 580s so its not a problem.
on a few games VRAM can be at 1.5GB with about 70% GPU useage but FPS still dips at times, i checked task manager and cpu load spiked very high during these fps drops.
am i being cpu limited (4.5ghz i7 2600k)
there are so many options in this thing, i mainly want to know more about anti aliasing.
how come there is an anti aliasing setting and anti aliasing transparency, do you need both
and whats better out of this lot
MSAA vs CSAA
SSAA vs SGSSAA
higher AA or higher transparency (e.g. 8xMSAA...
Getting 2 of these cards, was planning on the Palit's as they were in stock near me but recently found out the Phantom's are also available.
I also found out there might be an issue with the Palit card and the P8P67 PRO mobo,
a guy was having problems and found the bios/driver settings...
^^ thats what im trying to do, but when i get to the drive selection i cant see the 2 drives on the 3GB ports (the ones i actually want to put into RAID 1)., it only gives me the option of setting up RAID on the 6GB disks
im upgrading the GPUs soon so i'll just setup RAID again and then...
I enabled RAID and launched the configuration utility (Intel RST 10.1008) but it didn't show the 2 3tb drives, only my ssd and 2tb drive i have on the 6gb ports. any ideas?
Hey guys can anyone tell me how to setup RAID on this motherboard?
I got my B3 board setup with my SSD & 2TB drive on Intel's 6GB ports, AHCI mode.
I just got a couple of 3TB drives i want to put into RAID 1 but i don't know how to go about it.
The Marvel ports on this one apparently...
A lot of stuff surrounding this monitor, good and bad. When researching about this, it was hard for me to find opinions, up to date (A03) reviews about it from real people. I went ahead and bought it, hope this will help someone who is looking at this display make a decision.
text too small...
Which soundbar models are supported with the 3008wfp display?
I think its the AS501 and the AX510 but not 100% sure.
If someone can help me choose the right one with best sound :)
which is better, 3008wfp or u2711?
i only game on consoles, will input lag be a problem for me?
My needs are:
* Games on my PS3 (maybe a 360 or Wii in the future)
* Using Windows right now, but displayport would be nice futureproof if i get a mac
* Video editing (nothing too crazy)
* Photoshop...
