I found an ancient Win2k installation CD-R from which the system happily booted. Hinges have a small amount of play but everything else seems fine.
Power adapter, no battery (obv). No HDD. $60 shipped?
I don't think I've ever used the drive so I assume it works. Let me scare up an optical disc somewhere. I don't want to send out hardware that I don't know for sure works. Then I'll get the cost.
