Nomination: DC'er of the Month - February 2013

I'm still around, but only check in once in a while. On a folding note, I'll have a dual E5-2430 machine burning in within the next week or so.

    Bigbeta in a VM

I got it running also and it shaved off a little bit of time. I compiled it on another machine though, since I couldn't do it within the Linuxforge image.

    terrible TPF

I think you can still run the 32 bit version of FAH, but I don't think you can run SMP with it. I'm not sure if you can update/upgrade to 64 bit without reinstalling. One of our Linux experts will need to chime in on that....

    terrible TPF

It's 32 bit I think. I'm fairly sure it should say something like x86_64 in there someplace.

    terrible TPF

Total shot in the dark, but a quick search said something about running 64 bit software on a 32 bit install. What's the output of "uname -a" ?

    terrible TPF

Need root maybe? Try "sudo -s" without quotes first, then try ./fah6 -configonly. The $ at the prompt should change to a # after the sudo -s command.

How many points can I expect from smp wu's?

Also, if you just starting using your passkey, you need 10 successful units before you start getting bonuses.

    Bigbeta in a VM

I'm not sure, but that's been the norm for me. On the couple of machines I have it running on, it fluctuates between 90%-98% load. It's never fully 100% all the time, unlike folding natively.

    7.5 Months......

If running Windows, I think effectively no. I don't recall the last one I've gotten in Windows. In Linux, you'll be good though.

    Bigbeta in a VM

I'm still running Virtual Box on one dual hex machine. My dual quad machine couldn't quite cut it on 6904's, so it's just running smp now.

    Large SMP points off

    Here's some numbers for the machines I run. All stock speeds. All machines run Windows 7 x64. Q9650 10127 (80,2,11); 38:23 10128 (73,1,30); 13:11 10129 (59,2,29); 15:01 10130 (47,0,7); 16:03 10131 (22,0,21); 13:06 10132 (75,1,4); 13:02 10133 (52,1,10); 15:20 10134 (28,0,27); 14:14...

    Large SMP points off

I have ~30k records in HFM...most of them SMP. What particular units do you need numbers for?

    What VB is Better?

Mine does that. It never really does 99-100% load like it does in native Windows. It fluctuates between 90%-98% normally.

    Linux folding questions

I got a couple of 6901s at first, but 6903s after. It's running on a 16 and 24 thread machine. No overclocking, so your 980x machine might be faster.....

    Linux folding questions

I had a machine unable to get work for about 7 hours yesteday. I'm not sure if it's related to Virtual Box somehow though....I just started using it. The machine was running bigadv(when available) in Windows. I changed the machine id and it grabbed a work unit right away. I noticed...

    OCN putting the hammer down

It's broken...I've been able to create them, but it was hit and miss. Of the ones that got created, none were able to get a public IP. This was all on AZ2 though....I already had working instances on AZ1. I haven't tried to terminate and recreate them on AZ1, since I figured I might not be...

Folding on HP Cloud Services - already happening!

I had the same error...I opened up a trouble ticket with them. Support said they would email when it's resolved. I was able to make smaller instances, just not the 8 core one.

    Low PPD Despite Many Clients

Running Windows, the R710 should be capable of about 30k ppd on average with SMP and almost 40k with bigadv(when they are available). I have an R410 running, with those same processors.
