Anyone ever had a chance to compare the ORIGINAL 2490 to the new 241W? I know the second version 2490 dropped in quality and left much to be desired. Wondering about this newer model..
Will the TRAD2 cooler fit on a GTS 450? I currently have it mounted on my GTS 250, which somehow was damaged in a move and totally gave out 3 months later. I really want to be able to keep the cooler as the system runs super cool and the Scythe fans I have mounted are *silent*.
It's been a really long time since I've done any research on displays so I thought I'd check in before making my next purchase.
I am looking to buy a new monitor (preferably IPS but PVA possible) for under $500. Ideally, $300 or under but I know there are some tempting options around $400.
Is...
I have someone trying to convince me that fan speed and CPU usage are connected.. more specifically that CPU running at 100% usage during a game was caused by fan failure. This does not logically make any sense to me. Fan speed effects temperature, which can effect performance but not raw usage..
My understanding is that the newer Modxtreme Pro OCZ line as well as the Z series do not suffere the same ripple problems that the gamextreme built on FSP Epsilon does.. true? Did they never fix their Gamextreme line?
In XP, customizing start menus for each user was as simple as deciding which links go under the different start menu folders.. either the default one for all to see, or individual user folders for only one user to see. In Windows 7 there are no separate start menu folders and I cannot seem for...
I have a PC running Windows 7 and my friend is having problems with her Macbook. I want to plug in her hard drive into my dock and pull the data off using my computer. I know the dock works fine with her hard drive, but I have never tried to read a hard drive using a MAC OS on a Windows PC. It...
I have the Corsair 650HX modular and I have to say I've been VERY happy with it.
You should look to fix things now, instead of waiting for things to really get ugly. ESPECIALLY, if this is a power supply problem, you could end up with a lot more damage by waiting. A blown power supply can take...
If you're planning to overclock then don't cheap out on the RAM. Get CL7. That CL9 latency is going to limit you.

Those Antec cases don't have anywhere near as good airflow/cooling as even cheaper Lian Li stuff and they're also steel, not aluminum. Not really comparable cases or made for comparable needs.
And this doesn't hurt the metal at all? It looks just like it did before they "blackened" it? Good to know.. very good to know.. I can see myself doing this in the future.
3 day bump.. nobody? I haven't seen any official work either, but *zero* of their new cases come in silver.. I really wonder what this decision is based on.
I guess I'm just not getting what is so vague about "I'm wondering what people generally think is the best ghosting software out there." I was very specific about what I'm looking for. The problem was everyone assumed I didn't know what I was asking for. I meant what I said.. I was looking for...
I was not intending to give attitude, but I was offened because I felt like I was being talked down to. I'm sorry my later terminology confused, you but I'm not stupid.
I don't need help knowing how to ghost. I've done it many times before. *All* I am looking for is people's experiences and...
*looks at thread title* yep.. says i want ghosting software.. *looks at original thread question* yep.. asking about ghosting software again..
Anyway, like I was originally wondering, *which* do people recommend of the above list when using Windows 7?
Yes, I already have everything backed up...
Like I said, I'm trying to ghost from one hard drive to another. No new computer. Just new hdd. I can do that with Windows 7 by a) burning up an entire spindle of DVDrws or b) getting an extra hard drive just to house my disk image, neither of which I am keen on.
The D-link adapter worked straight out of the box without having to install any drivers. However, I found some updated Atheros general drivers and it boosted my speed. Happy with this one!
ETA: Well it works well until the signal falls below "good".. and it's mostly sitting at "fair", which has...
I have 182GB of data to back up, which means I am going to need 39 DVDRWs to make a full system backup. So.. that's just not reasonable to me. The only other alternative I see is buying another hard drive, for the sole purpose of housing the image. That's another $50 investment and silly to me...
The whole point of the original article was based on faulty/inconsistent pin/pad connections, which are only present in Foxconn sockets. So if there are now instances of burning on other sockets maybe it's just a limitation of the overclock. It is actually possible to fry things with...
I'm wondering what people generally think is the best ghosting software out there.
Personally, I've successfully used Acronis Migrate Easy 7, but I've heard people say they think Acronis has gone down hill. I've only used it to clone XP drives in the past, and now I have Windows 7 so maybe...
If you're doing what zero said then that makes sense now.. but if you're just trying to plug from your power supply to that socket then there isn't any problem.. your pci-e connectors on power supplies are male. The connector on your board is female. No issues..
That isn't a picture of a connector on a power supply..that's on some kind of board.. is that a picture of the connector on your graphics card? I can't tell at all.. but that's what the connector on a GPU *should* look like. I think we're missing something here. What power supply do you have and...
Can't see your image.. a power supply will have a connector like this: http://www.nordichardware.com/skrivelser_img/432/psu.pcie.jpg
And it goes to the graphics card like this: http://www.legitreviews.com/images/reviews/730/sapphire_radeon4850_power.jpg
I'm not really sure where I should post this, but I think this is as good as any. When I try to download drivers from Realtek I get the error "530 login incorrect". What is going on?
Thanks for the responses. I picked up a D-Link DWA-556.. and the AZiO card because it was too cheap and I was too curious not to at least give up a test.
Nope. And I did search to discover other people complaining on the Cisco support forums. There is no support for it.
I will look into the Abit adapter. Thank you :)
I'm about at my witt's end. After fighting with inferior consumer grade USB adapter after another, I finally found the CISCO AIR-PI21AG adapter. This thing is.. was.. great. Much faster, solid connection, no drops. Perfect. Well, when I upgraded my computer I found it wasn't compatible with my...
well, I ended up going with the Corsair again. Two biggest reasons were the $60 price difference and the smaller size. Hopefully I will have better luck this time.
