I am currently running an i5 2500K with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007R21JJK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 as my motherboard. What I am wondering is if I can use a new CPU, for instance an i5 7600K, without upgrading my MB. No real budget target. Best bang for buck, but...
I work in payroll at a hospital. We tend to be pretty up front with our employees. If you don't know ahead of time that your ass is on the chopping block, then you weren't paying much attention. Probably not the norm, but we're in a growing micropolitan area that still has a solid "good ol' boy"...
I had a G5 and was very sad when I finally had to put it to ground. That mouse got me countless kills in CoD (1 and 2, I never got into the later ones) and I-don't-want-to-know-how-many hours in MC, BWL and AQ. After my G5 bit it I moved up to a G700 and have never looked back.
I was having some performance issues on certain levels @3440x1440 even with 2 290x. I turned off the advanced Physx and it all started running smooth as butter and honestly I can't tell a difference in game play.
I'm pretty sure that I will have to RMA mine. The glow on the bottom corners is pretty bad and it is noticeable on the top corners. Mine has a May manufacturing date. Should I send it to Newegg or LG? Anyone have experience with either?
Other than the glow problem I absolutely love this screen.
Mine came in last night. Absolutely gorgeous. Sadly I didn't have much time to play with. Just a few minutes of gaming and a few minutes of a 21:9 movie. It is showing some orange IPS glow in all four corners. I'm getting a ColorMunki tomorrow and I'm hoping that calibrating will take that down...
I just placed the order. Everything has guaranteed delivery by Saturday except the blue ray player which will be here next week. I decided to hold off on the second monitor. I'll just save up and pick one up in a few months. I'm going with the XFX DD R9 290x (x2) the Corsair 500R, the Seasonic...
Dangman, thanks for the response. I guess the DD R9 290x crossfire it is. :D What do you think between the Antec Eleven Hundred Black Super Mid Tower and the Corsair Carbide Series Black 500R? Is it the Antec worth the additional $20 plus not being Prime eligible? Also, could you link that...
I had started one of these a month ago when I first put in an order for a LG 34UM95 and the advice that was given was to wait. It turned out to be good advice as I ended up deciding to scrap a couple of other projects and can now put those funds to upgrading my PC. I am scheduled to get my new...
I've been planning to upgrade my computer once my screen comes in and then down the road pick up a 27" as a second screen, but with no way of knowing when I'll actually get my 34UM95 I'm starting to think maybe I shouldn't wait on the upgrades/second monitor. At least that way I'll have a 27" to...
I only put my order in May 24th. I have a feeling I'll be waiting a while. :( In the mean time I have to decide whether to keep my computer hooked up to my 40" TV, which between my wife and my daughter I never get to use, or dust off my Samsung 712N. That's right 1280x1024 gaming. :D
I'm in the same boat. I can't seem to find much of anything about when anywhere will have more in which makes me think the answer to your question is probably "no". :( I even have my desk cleaned off in anticipation.
I just put in an order with Amazon for the LG 34UM95 and now I need to make sure I'm ready for it once I get it.
Current rig:
Intel Core i5-2500K CPU
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77 ATX Motherboard
Corsair CMV8GX3M2A1333C9 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
Gigabyte GV-R795WF3-3GD HD 7950 3GB PCI-E Video...
Well, I'm convinced. I guess I'll hop into line to get one from Amazon unless anyone knows of somewehere that has them in stock. Thank for the recommendations guys.
The more I see of the UM95 the more I want one. I'm a little concerned about the QC since it seems a little hit or miss, but that seems to be true of most monitors these days. It sounds like the biggest complaints are backlight bleed and IPS glow, but once again it seems to vary from person to...
I'm not dead set on 3, I'm just looking for the best gaming experience that fits my budget. I will, however, want at least 2 screens. I don't care too much between matte or glossy. I suppose I lean a bit more toward glossy which is one of the things I like about the AOC since they are...
Is there a 27" that you might recommend then? And what would make good secondary? Also to one of my original questions would I need to upgrade anything to make good use of the new screens?
I've been looking around and I noticed that Amazon has the U2414H from 2 different vendors, Dell and vernal.tech. The one from Dell is $259.99 and has an ASIN of B00GTV05XG where as the one from vernal.tech is $299.99 and has an ASIN of B00H4MJ1M0. Is there any difference between the 2 screens...
I built a new rig 2 years ago and due to budget constraints I decided to forgo a monitor and just use my 40inch TV. That has worked pretty well, but now I'm wanting to put my computer in my office where I can use it while my wife and daughter use the TV. I would like to go to a 3 screen setup...
It looks like it is sending me to my router on my laptop (same network as the server) but on my phone it just times out. I feel like I am probably missing something simple.
I am setting up a filezilla server on my home PC. I used dyn.com to get a domain, but when I try to connect to the domain it sends me to my router if I use the default port in filezilla, 21. I have tried a few different ports and with anything but 21 it doesn't connect at all. Any thoughts?
I built a new gaming rig back in April and would like to use it as a media server as well. I would like to be able to stream video and music as well as access files remotely across different platforms.
The computer in question is an i5 2500k running Windows 7. Currently I have a Samsung...
Sometimes I worry that I might be mildly mentally retarded and/or completely blind. Thanks again Danny. That was the last little thing hanging out there. My new rig is fully up and running. I'll see what I can do about putting some pics up later for anyone who might be interested.
Here's a screenshot. I have a feeling I'm missing something embarrassingly simple. Although, in fairness, I am somewhat distracted by a very unhappy (and screaming) infant in my arms. I'm pretty sure that ST31000524AS is my missing drive.
Yeah, so apparently you can't view the bios screens over HDMI. I yanked out my vid card and plugged a VGA screen in and it worked fine, Got Windows installed, installed all my drivers, then plugged the vid card back in. Spent a couple hours last night playing Skyrim on Ultra High settings. Very...
I pulled everything out and put it back in one piece at a time.I even tried using different RAM slots and using only one stick of RAM at a time in each of the different slots. I reset the CMOS and I checked all the cables. I tried pulling out the vid card and used onboard. In every single...
