Taking the plunge, need some questions answered

Watercooling both NB and SB chipset + also mosfets around CPU if possible, is absolutely essential when looking to OC and have a quiet system at same time! That is the only way to get the heat out of your case and keep it quiet. Also when you already have the whole expensive "infrastucture"...

    What's up with the Aquaduct?

Yes the 240 Pro is with a 12v pump (same as 360XT), while the basic 240 is with 230 v pump (non-adjustable). That is the only difference afaik.

    What's up with Alphacool?

They simply stopped making it just after launching it - and it quietly disappeared from their site..

    Compression fittings

You *might* be able to use Tygon or Clearflex 3/8"ID-5/8"OD with the Koolance fittings if you drill out the collar on the compression nut pretty much all the way - or at least to 14-15mm if possible. I just made a few posts about this subject in Cathar's "Impact of tubing sizes" thread at...

Looking for Alphacool G1/4 Quick Disconnect from a retailer

Actually they have nothing to do with Alphacool, they are "generic" parts made by a large Italian fittings factory afaik. But anyways, if you can't find them in the US, we have a selection of them here: http://www.vcore.dk/shop/lynkoblinger-59c1.html I use them for my HDD watercooling where...

    Hydor L35 vs DDC3.2 w/Petra top

Cooling performance will be nearly identical - maximum 1c difference I would say. Flow will probably be about the same - maybe even a bit higher with the DDC, but nothing that makes a meaningful difference in CPU temp. In my experience Hydor does not have problems like the defective electronics...

Who's your best vendor for Euro cooling?

Shipping costs from Europe to the US will vary depending on country and which shipping method or agent is used. Some shops may well have a very low shipping cost up to a certain weight limit, and then have to change to a more expensive shipping type after that. Our system (at www.vcore.dk) is...

    Memory cooling blocks...yeah, I know, I know

Well you could certainly buy the whole thing at our shop: www.vcore.dk (where I am co-owner). We stock almost all the brands that have been mentioned in this thread, and ship worldwide, although shipping to the US will cost a bit. - But since it is definitely not my intention to try and sell...

    Memory cooling blocks...yeah, I know, I know

Yes I am afraid MIPS is quite clear about that: "Der RAM Freezer 2 eignet sich zur Aufnahme von bis zu 3 double-sided Speichermodule mit ca. 3-4mm Dicke o h n e Heatspreader" = The RAM Freezer 2 is suited for up to 3 double sided RAM modules of 3-4 mm thickness WITHOUT Heatspreader" - and...

    What's up with Alphacool?

Yes Alphacools first Nexxxos radiators were made by Magicool in China, but supposedly the new Nexxxos series is from another supplier (according to Alpahcool) - although they do look alot like the new Magicool rads... hmmm..

    What's up with Alphacool?

Yes in fact it IS the Watercool DDC. Not really rebadged either, AC just sells a few select Watercool products in their shop as kind of neutral products. Notice how it doesn't have an AC type name, which usually starts with "aqua..." something. Watercool was also the first to make the "PRO"...

    Memory cooling blocks...yeah, I know, I know

RAM watercooling may not do very much for OC, but where it does help quite a bit is in keeping the case temp down by getting the heat outside - which is always good. Especially if low-noise levels are a priority, and you also don't have watercooling on your HDD. - But if noise levels are not a...

    What's up with the Aquaduct?

I am co-owner of the watercooling shop www.vcore.dk in Denmark, where we are the official AC distributor- so I got them from own supply :) Have personally preferred Watercool.de products (with the Heatkiller stuff) in the past, but after we started selling AC, it is a toss-up really. Quality...

The consensus of 90 degree elbows on older w/c hardware

Good job on that watercooling box! - also nice to see the old WW still beeing put to good use. I would say go right ahead with the 90 angles if it helps - won't make a noticeable difference in my experience. What you can do to minimize the effect though, is to use oversized elbows, with an...

    Critique my choices

CPU block and pump are certainly top choices - best there is really! Don't have experience with the rest, but I agree in principle that too small a reservoir can cause a lot of air/bubble trouble with a powerful pump - so it is something to watch out for.

    What's up with the Aquaduct?

Hey TN, good (and brave) job of taking it apart. Did you assemble it again already, or are you working on modding it? Just wanted to give you a little warning from experience: It is very easy to overtighten the screws that go into the aluminum profiles and ruin the thread, as the thread holes...
