How many yrs warranty do your drives come? You can find it from Seagate website using the SN of your drive. My 410AS comes with 5year warranty. I am afraid that Seagate changed warranty to 3yrs for 418AS.

For single disk, I got 86Mb/s for AAKS and 96Mb/s for AALS, and 106Mb/s for seagate 7200.12. The difference is about 11.6%
Considering the transfer rate, the black drive(WD6401AALS) is about 12% faster than WD6400AAKS. And the Seagate 7200.12 drives are 12% faster than WD6401AALS.
Good price though.
In realtemp, the Tjmax is 95C, while in CoreTemp, Tjmax is 100C. That is why RealTemp always shows 5C lower than CoreTemp does. Not sure which is the right Tjmax, but to me, 100C is more reasonable.
The transfer rate of 80Mb/s is kinda slow to me, since the transfer rate of Seagate 7200.12 drive is over 100mb/s. This drive might be ok if used for a HTPC, definitely not good for a gaming rig.
FYI,
My Q6600 running at 3Ghz, full load temps for four cores are no higher than 49C with Xigmatek S1283 installed, and 59C with the Intel stock cooler. I would check the contact of the heatsink and processor first. Your temp looks too high to me.
The ASUS and Gigabyte are Taiwan companys. The are best motherboard manufactures. My EVGA vedio card and seagate HD are made in China. MY HP and DELL laptops are made in China too. All them are working perfectly well. Stop posting craps please....
Eventually, I picked up a Q6600 over a Q9300. I overclocked it to 3ghz with vcore dropped to 1.25V, windows 7 shows the index of CPU and RAM are 7.3 and 7.3, about same. The realtemp shows the temperatures of 47, 46, 42, 42C at full load, with Xigmatek S1283 installed. It also can hit 3.5Ghz...
I am running my Q6600 with a P5b deluxe. The key for me is the FSB:RAM divider. I have to set it as 1:1 to get good oc results.
I did n't push the voltage on any thing, instead I dropped the Vcore of processor from 1.275V to 1.25V. You might try the FSB:RAM=1:1, see whether 333x9 is stable or not.
Either new seagate 7200.12 500gb or WD 640gb black drives are good choices. Seagate 7200.12 is slightly faster than WD black. The transfer rates showed by HD tune are 106mb/s and 95mb/s respectively, about 10% different. Single 500gb platters are used on seagate 7200.12 drives. I own a 500gb...
Don't jump on a conclusion in a hurry, you might need to use PQ magic or HD tune to check your drives first. Windows did n't recognize my drive before I used pq magic to creat the partitions. Some one pointed out that it might be due to the old bios. The new board should be fine. I am not sure...
The seagate 500gb 7200.12 is amazing. It runs much faster, cooler and quieter than my 320gb 7200.10 drive. HD tune pro shows 106Mb/s average transferate, even faster than WD 640gb black drives. Love this drive, barely hear it when is running.
Looks a little bit faster than AALS. The large file copy speed kinda surprised me.

As I know, multiplier for Q9300 is 7.5, I think I will OC slightly, will be happy with 3ghz. I just bought a P5b deluxe, how is oc ability of this board?
to me four dimm is a limitation. I guess four slot of rams wont run in tri channel mode. I wish my board has 8slots, so that I don't need to dump my 1gb rams to upgrad to 8gb.
a combo of phenom II 920 + biostar 790gx is only for $295 from newegg, better choice than Q6600. The board has two real 16x pci-e for CF. X48 is much more exprensive.
