i went ahead an bought a new powersupply thermaltake black widow 850w modular and i have so far ran unigine heaven for a full benchmark pass without any issues. So I don't know yet if it was my power supply going bad or if it's still the vram or motherboard. As far as trying another browser, I...
Well I'm back after a few weeks. I recently had issues with my video card http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1613974
well I purchased a new EVGA 560 TI and i'm still having issues. My current issues are that the driver stops responding constantly with hardware acceleration turned on in...
well I took it apart and cleaned it out and still no go. So I just ordered a 560 to replace it, I didn't have my 280 registered (yea i know i'm stupid) so hopefully this fixes the issues! Thanks for the help guys. You all rock.
is there any program that will log temps and save it even on a hard restart? because as soon as I load the game it happens, no way I can see the temps.
Just used hwmonitor and it says it's at 50c idle, which seems to be fine as far as I know, Unfortunately I didn't register my card way back when so i'm SoL there. If I do have to replace the card, what would be a good replacement? I don't think they sell 280s anywhere anymore.

This happens as soon as I log into the world in WoW and has happened while playing Darksiders and Witcher 2. It just started happening this weekend. I have been running this setup for 2 years about and have not changed or tweaked any settings other than...
A friend of mine recently purchased the ASUS Eee PC 900 16G (8.9" Display, Intel Mobile CPU, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB Solid State Drive, XP Home) refurbished off of Amazon.com and the thing couldn't be any slower. We tried installing WinLite in an attempt to determine if a Light XP install would answer...
The power button on my case will get stuck pushed in and I have to use a screwdriver to get it to pop out, so I was wondering if maybe that was shorting out and sending a shutdown signal to the motherboard so i disconnected the power button from my motherboard, and used the handy onboard power...
well i loaded up WoW and stood in Dalaran which has the most players of anywhere in the game and my GPU never went above 45c so I don't think its a heat related issue...so that only leaves either the power coming from the wall or my power supply.
I ran prime95 for 30 mins while monitoring the temps with speedfan and the core1 and core 2 temps never went over 40c. So I don't think my CPU is overheating, the only thing left to check would be my Video card, does anyone know of any programs that will really bog down the video card, but runs...
Recently my computer has been shutting down without warning, I ran a memtest to see if it was my RAM and i noticed that one of the sticks was bad so I took them out and started running on 4 gigs. Now a day later my computer shuts down again without warning and when I hit the power button it...
Just a thought, what would be the best way to test if it is my PSU? Is there any good programs that will monitor voltage levels to see if it does anything weird before a shutdown?
Another thing I forgot to mention is that my power button seems to be getting "stuck" pushed in and I had to used a screw driver to get it to come back out. Is it possible that because of this problem there is a short causing it to shut my computer off?
While playing World of Warcraft my computer will sometimes reboot and then in the event log just after i see this:
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be...
also I had another question, I have read that with my xigmatek heatsink that I should only put 3 small strips of paste on the copper tubes on the bottom of the heatsink. I have also read that you should just put a link down the middle of the processor where the core is. Finally I have read you...
Hey, I am putting my heatsink on my CPU atm and when I took the plastic film tab off from the bottom of the heatsink it left sticky residue on it. What is the best way to remove that?
I have a Xigmatek S1283
I went with the Evga 280 SSC edition. I really wanted to get the 4870x2 but I just kept reading post after post about crashes, fps drops, alt tab problems, bad support for older games (WoW) and I just couldn't do it. Thanks a lot guys for you help and I will probably need more when I get my parts :P.
I am getting 8gigs, Two sets of the 4gb g-skill.
I don't mind the price as long as it works, I don't want to purchase something that will not work correctly and be stuck with it.
I have a read a few posts about the 280s but not as many as 4870x2
I have nothing against ATI or nVidia I really don't care what I use as long as it works for what I want to play without having to tweak it for 3 days.
So I really am not sure which route to go, either way it seems I will be...
now i'm having second thoughts about the 4870x2 ;( I've been reading over the WoW tech support forums and various other places with people having crashing problems with the 4870x2 and low framerates. Now I know that it is kind of silly to go by word of mouth by someone on a WoW forum so I just...
one more question,
this might go better in the video card forum but since I already have this post I might as well add to this one.
I have been reading pretty bad horror stories about the ATI drivers in the last few hours. Are the drivers really that bad? With the newegg return policy I am...
I've been trying to find out but I can't get a clear answer, does anyone know if I will have clearance issues with my heatsink in the Antec Twelve Hundred case?
