for some reason my computer stopped detecting my monitor thus morning. it is a acer 2216w 22inch display. i am running a 8800gts. now it is only picking it up as "default display" and will only allow a 1024 x 768 resolution instead of a 1680 x 1050 resolution...
i was at a friend of a friends house and he had the same video card as me (8800gts) and he turned on some crazy blob that would shift into all different shapes and everyonce and a while it would turn into the nvidia logo. Does anyone know what this is or where i could find it??
okay, i don't know how i screwed up the first time, but i tried disabling ipv6 then restarting my computer. it seems to have worked fine ever since. but strangely enough it has slowed down my torrents....
with the internet protocol turned off i had no internet...firefox and cod4 didn't work. but with just the link layers turned off it seemed to work like normal

i just installed windows vista and have notice that it is making my online games choppy. Counterstrike source has started getting choppy (one second you are somewhere, then all of a sudden you have jumped somewhere else in a split second). Call of duty 4 is also having this problem online...
hmmm..... i don't know after all. yesterday i played for hours and hours without any problems. no its back to its old self. the few servers it does connect to, while i am playing i just get connection interrupted messages
yeah its only a couple hours worth of missions. but try playing arcade mode on veteran, its super fun. I think this is the best multiplayer i have played in a long long time. i will never play css again after this
mine seems to work now just fine. all i did was turn off the windows vista firewall. i have been playing for a couple hours now and have not had a problem since
yeah. its pretty lame, i hope they come out with a patch soon. i have only been able to connect to one server so far and it kept saying connection interrupted and would just get super laggy
I bought cod4 because i heard the multi player is really really good but i can't get it to work!! I just beet all the single player missions so now i want online but every time i try and connect to a server it just counts up to 10 then says connection timed out.
i am running vista business...

but when i am in steam all i get is crazy staticy feedback. i get the harsh static with voice chats...
one thing i have noticed is that for some reason when i go control panel >> speech, there is no sound recognition tab like i have seen in some trouble shooting manuals
