counter strike mic problems

i am running the creative fatal1ty soundcard and the mic works fine (records sound clear with the sound recorder) but in counter strike it just is a crazy amount of static and feedback whether i am talking or not....

i am running vista but i doubt thats it because it works fine except for in cs....

Doesn't matter, nobody wants some random spouting away at them on a public server anyway.
