Hey gents, looking for troubleshooting advice for my LG monitor. Displayport is no longer showing video. The OSD says it is connected after plugging in the cable but shows no video. Displayport has worked for many years. HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 are working fine. I have tried a different...
I preordered this back in the day and spent many hours playing it. Did the Atlas path and unlocked all the achievements at the time. I enjoyed it and stopped playing after I got lost in space and could never get to the center of the universe no matter how many jumps or black holes. I fired it...
I have the same laptop and went through the same struggles with the creators update. F2 to get into BIOS, and then SMART off under chipset. Yes you can turn SMART back on after the update installs. If you mess with the NVME driver going from Microsoft to Samsung you will BSOD. For build 1803...
I too have had this issue on my LG 34" and 970. Always thought it was my ASUS board, as the black screen issue would happen after a BIOS update. Look forward to testing after work
I had the same problem with the drivers. I did a clean install. Kept defaulting to my monitor speakers after a reboot. I never use them so I disabled the speakers in sound properties. Also had some popping noises in my USB headset that I've never heard. Rolled back to 372.70 and no issues.
Is it worth waiting for the next revision of the 10 series cards? If I recall the non ACX evga 970s had some issues like coil whine and not being able to SLI with newer boards. I'd hate to buy a 1070 or 1080 now and down the road not be able to SLI it due to the board being revised.
use identical 970's, not all revisions are compatible with each other. found the exact same tool to enable sli but surround is broken. replaced card with the same sku and sli works with no tool same bridge and board.
I'm using display port only for my 3 displays across 2 970's. the only time i had issues was when the display port cable was not fully inserted. the metal slots on my tower have warped over time and the display port cable was not making a full connection.
another wisconsinite here, it would be nice to see this money go to covering all of the funding that walker has cut.
also have been to a recent UW football game, camp randall might be older than shit but it has never looked better.
I've got all 3 of my monitors connected to the top card via DP. For whatever reason this nets the best SLI performance in Witcher 3. Otherwise it is pretty flexible as cortexodus pointed out.
Probably depends on the driver and if any Witcher 3 patches were installed. The latest drivers and patches have solved most of the performance issues with hairworks.
SLI is working here. I did notice that in Ark and Witcher 3 the memory usage would go over 4GB for each card. Using MSI afterburner to show stats in games.
Set power management mode to maximum instead of adaptive in the NVidia 3d settings and see if that helps. If it does use NVidia inspector to create a custom profile for your games where max power management is needed.
There were several drivers starting with GTA V game ready driver that broke NV Surround and custom resolutions. I got around by using an older working driver and updating the driver through GeForce experience. However since 353.62 I have clean wiped on Win 7 and after upgrading to Win 10. No...
If they are both EVGA cards, I'd suggest reaching out to EVGA support. They are fully aware of the different revisions not able to SLI and offered me a replacement that matched my original card.
If you are planning on SLI with an existing 970 card, make sure it's compatible before pulling the trigger.

Couple of road bumps but nothing major. Did the upgrade from win 7 to win 10. On first boot my triple monitors were detected and nv surround already configured. The resolution scale was set to 300% so dropped that down to 100%. Looking through Nvidia control panel, SLI was disabled. I had...
Just went through this with a evga ssc acx 2.0 and ssc acx 2.0+. They were incompatible with each other despite being evga 970s. Differentsli gets sli working but nv surround seems to break. Had to get a same SKU card. Sucks
The differentsliauto patch did work for me however I could not enable nv surround afterwards. It is mentioned that performance is shite as the patch basically uses the pcie lanes to sli. I shipped back the ssc yesterday and hoping to receive the replacement ssc+ by end of the week / early next...
this was my first sli experience and it was definitely a pain in the ass. my coworker was sling the ssc and a zotac amp extreme with no problems so possibly limited to evga 970 + evga 970. here's to hoping the replacement goes well. will report back when I receive the replacement card
I considered that but not too many people in my area pick up the high end computer gear on craigslist. I'd post in the F/S forums here but would prefer to keep it local. So I chatted with EVGA support and determined that the SSC and SSC+ 970 models will not SLI together. They have generously...
Paid 270
I am having a helluva time getting SLI + Surround working. A Windows message pops up at startup to connect the SLI bridge. The SLI bridge is connected and basically new out of the plastic wrap. I reseated it no change. I did some research and see its a common issue with x58...
