Wow, its been ages since I've been around here.:D
I have returned to ask the [H]ard community their opinion on which PSU I should choose.
Way back when I bought an ABS desktop after the XPS 700 fiasco. After an RMA for a dead mobo, UPS trashed it and it ended up being rebuilt by ABS. Of...
Here is the situation.
Picked up an ABS PC way back in 2006 with a 975 XBX mobo. Never plan to SLI and I've heard Intel's mobo's are rugged so I figured it would last. Also I'm an older sort so I decided not to DIY due to a lack of time, energy, and patience.
Well it didn't last. A little...
Okay, I've run into a problem with my ABS PC and UPS has turned it into a nightmare.
Here are the highlights:

Well its home, was talking to the wife when the UPS guy showed up.
What I ordered:
ABS Stealth Case Black
Intel 975X Mobo
550W PSU
E6600 Core 2 CPU
EVGA 7950 GX2
2 GB Corsair Ram
320 GB HD
XP Pro
Will take pictures and post them hopefully tonight. :D

Being the old fashioned sort I decided to stick with CRT and ordered a Viewsonic G90F-3.
Then...
Yes I have purchased a Dell XPS 700. I, who was so sure I would get a Velocity Micro and wait for Conroe, bought a Dell XPS 700. Why? Well though I will surely deserve flaming for this Dell literally made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
My company has an employee discount through Dell and I...
Being an older "married with children and mortgage" type I believe I would not have the time or energy to safely build my own new PC. I have been looking at Dell and Velocity Micro and starting to lean towards VM despite the Dell discount I get through work.
However I am not sure on the best...
