Twitch implements YouTube-like system for blocking copyrighted audio

Sad move. The music people played was just a small icing on the cake part of the experience and isn't why people watch. I've actually discovered a lot of artists via twitch I'd never have otherwise. I understand artist need cash, but they in areas where you just get a lot of positive exposure...

When was the last time you paid full price for a game?

i'm not a huge game collector type of gamer, i tend to choose my games more for long term play. I'd say perhaps CS:GO was the last game i paid full price for, and this was 3 years ago. Recently bought GRID 3, but there is noway, ever, i would have paid full price for this. Nowadays, i try to...

    hard drive upgrades?

Absolutely. The most common config when factoring in an SSD these days, is something like a 128/256GB SSD for your Win install, plus perhaps a second partition for games and apps you want to run fast. Then a sufficiently sized HDD for media files (films, music, other game snot so played,etc)...

Sorry guys, I need some opinions..

blur reduction in a game like CS isn't really ideal, in fact,t hre whole blur reduction concept right now to me is a bit "meh". The brightness you lose is so significant, that until they solve this, i personally can't stand it. Especially for games like CS where you want things to be nice and...

    Quad monitor video card

will this really work on an AMD card? I sort of recall (i may be wrong), that the second DVI is kind of shared witht he HDMI port. Maybe i;'m thinking of triple screens, or just not remembering things correctly.

Want to Run 4k Suggestions On GPU?

consider that 4k is more demanding than a 1920x1080 triple screen setup, and you come to realize that as thin gs stand, you'll need at the very least, a top level single card, minimum.

ASUS/BENQ LightBoost owners!! Zero motion blur setting!

I thought adaptive v-sync was a feature where when you hit the v-sync refresh rate, v-sync is on, but if it goes below this refresh, it turns itself off? Also, what is the difference you talk of regarding vsync and LB? Interested in knowing the details. I assume it must be better in LB mode...

ASUS/BENQ LightBoost owners!! Zero motion blur setting!

I will leave my initial thoughts for my BenQ 2411T purchase - have not tried lightboost yet, just 144hz mode. I am one of those old timers who used a CRT at at least 100hz for counter-strike (sometimes much higher), but since then have of course been through many TFT's over the years - the...

ASUS/BENQ LightBoost owners!! Zero motion blur setting!

assuming there is nothing extra special about lightboost and it's just a case of enabling nvidia surround, you should be able to use any combo, so 2x dvi + 1xdp or hdmi. However, i do think I've heard you may need hdmi 1.4 to use hdmi for 120hz, so it will depend on whether that monitor supports...

ASUS/BENQ LightBoost owners!! Zero motion blur setting!

can i just double check something? I know the 27" models are best for colour, but just wondering if the 2411T has decent brightness in lightboost mode? What i mean by this is that some models suffer badlt when lightboost is enabled, but i can't remember which (though i have a feeling it was...

Eyefinity issue, vertical "tear" line on DP screen

thanks for the link. I do it for noise concerns, I run an ultra low noise rig (the only noise is a little voltage whine from the PSU), The cooler i have is inaudible, I doubt those Asus ones will be the same, certainly better than stock though :) I will look into a 7950 Direct CU when it comes...

Eyefinity issue, vertical "tear" line on DP screen

That's good news i guess, though i don't normally spend £400 on GPUs. Is it a reference designed PCB? I tend to prefer going for reference design PCB's so it's usable for after market coolers.

Eyefinity issue, vertical "tear" line on DP screen

i'm looking into that at the moment, not good though as i have an Accelero Extreme plus II on my current 6970 and i doubt it will fit the Asus card as it's non-reference(?) I might just wait for the 7950 variant and see how much faster it is than a 6970.

Eyefinity issue, vertical "tear" line on DP screen

it's the sort of issue you find out after the fact in a forum, sadly. I don't know of any sites that reported on this issue, not the ones i visit anyway. I absolutely can't live with this tearing, what are my options now? I assume I'll need access to 3 of the same ports, not mixed? Can I use 2...

Eyefinity issue, vertical "tear" line on DP screen

*It's vertical because i'm in portrait mode, in normal landscape mode it would be horizontal.* This only happens when eyefinity is on, normal multi screen config doesn't cause this... Running a typical setup here: 2x DVI 1x DP. I have a tear line, pretty much like it's lagging on the display...

    3x 120Hz Eyefinity Portrait Setup

Damn, that's annoying. Let me know how it goes, as i'm still interested in this. I never thought i'd like portrait mode (i bought them for landscape mode), but the moment i set it up like this, i'm sold.I could just do with the smaller bezels now!

    3x 120Hz Eyefinity Portrait Setup

does the "if done properly" bit mean i should expect some tricky parts to getting it down to its minimum? For example, in your guide you took off an extra part to shave off an extra 1.5mm, is this the type of thing you mean? I'm very intrigued to give this a go, just put my monitors in...

    3x 120Hz Eyefinity Portrait Setup

I like this a lot. Can you say how/why you chose these monitors in the first place? I'm curious because the panel bezels inside of these are soooo tiny, it's as if you knew they would be perfect before you even started! I have three Dell U2412m's, I was wondering if you could guess as to the...

    Monitor choices for triple screens

Looking to jump into eyefinity, but having a little trouble on deciding which route to take. I currently have a Hazro 27" 2560x1440 screen that in my view, has no real downsides. I'm trying to figure out which size screens to go for so that i don't feel like i've lost too much. I guess the...

    I got my LianLi PC-A05B ! it's Small!

That small intake fan has been switched off. I taped it up so the PSU only draws nice cool air from the bottom and not the warmer air from inside the case. It's the same PSU as one of the Corsairs, which doesn't even come with the extra fan so i know it to be safe, and it cuts out a little extra...

    I got my LianLi PC-A05B ! it's Small!

This is what i did to mine, i think it's the best way, if you can do it. The insides have been upgraded since these pics, it's got an i3 in there now with a 6970, and some Scythe GT's and an SSD. It's quiet, but it can never be silent, the aluminium is so thin on this case, i might move to a...

    AMD's ATI 10.3a Catalyst Driver Update @ [H]

don't know if anyone has said this yet, but it's been documented before that these frame rates gains that "all of a sudden" appear in a driver are mostly a marketing strategy used to get one over on the other competitor. It's no coincidence that Fermi is coming and this is the driver update...

    Best looking Case of 2009

i get this feeling cases are going backwards. The older Lian Li's imo were some of the best ever made, like the V1000z (in looks). Most new Lian Li's are very dull, with the exception of the X500, but that's far to big for me. I guess I would like to see more smaller cases with really...

    Dell U2410

I can't see how they can do this, as the LUT processing, which is responsible for the sRGB mode comes with a latency penalty. Unless you meant a faster chip in an A01 revision to help minimise the latency penalty, but if so, why have a game mode, as it would be the same as the other modes. EDIT...
