Hi All,
Lookin for a 7.1ch receiver. I need HDMI cross-conversion (taking all analog and digital signals, combining the signals into a single HDMI stream, and outputting sound and video through the HDMI output).
Any suggestions?

I'm honestly wondering if it can be secured to a brick wall--my plan is above my fireplace with tap/cons epoxied into the mortar between the bricks.
I want it to swing out of the way for when I build a fire and don't wan tmy LCD smoky.
But staying on topic, I'll head to costco in-store and...

Not too bad--can't seem to find a better price (except on monoprice, which is perpetually OOS for these types of mounts).
Looks like it's got a wide range of connection options and some decent weight capacity. Not a bad...
I wasn't being clear.
I've got a 47" LCD that weighs 70-ish pounds. I need a wall mount that will tilt/swivel and extend out from the wall a minimum of 8-10 inches.
Any ideas?
Hi all,
I like this mount on monoprice:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082806&p_id=4563&seq=1&format=2
But it's been out of stock forever. Anyone know of a good replacement for similar cost? The only others I can find are $400.
Thanks,

Wh, I posted the 47" Westy from ECost a couple weeks ago (it was $1060 shipped to my door).
Sorry for the lukewarm welcome, it's a lot kinder than the one I received though. The 47" looks good despite the naysayers....
I don't know much about the harmony remotes. I've used the ATI Remote Wonder before, that was pretty slick--worked with the 9800 AIW I have, but it's kinda buggy.
I was watercooled, but it was a performance setup--not a noise-conscious one. Besides, regardless of how quiet it is, my case is...
What more do you need from me?
Requirements:
Ability to capture an incoming AV stream--perhaps store on internal media.
Ability to output/upscale to 1080p.
Ability to talk to a network (yes, hardwired gigabit is preferred, but 10Mb will do. Wireless is acceptable but not as good...
Currently have an HTPC, but it's huge--wanting to consolidate for not many dollars. Thinking about just an upconverting DVD player, but here's all the stuff it's got to do. Does anyone know of anything that has all this?
-1080p upconversion
-usb input
-ethernet (RJ45) input so I can...
I had heard that--but it shouldn't matter if I'm returning the item for technical malfunction (as in my case) should it?
Is there really a time limit on that? I only purchased the monitor less than 4 months ago.
Ath, costco still has their no questions asked "lifetime" return policy, right?
I'm probably going to trade in my 22" that's been acting quirky for a 1080p display.
If you actually have a 1600Kbps connection, your maximum transfer is 1600/8=200KBps=0.2MBps. There's no way you could have gotten 1.5MBps (that would equate to 12000Kbps.)
You've got your bits (b) and bytes (B) all bunched up.

Go to Autozone or O'Reilly's auto parts and get a heatercore from a 1977 Pontiac Bonneville with Air Conditioning. They hold 2 120mm fans perfectly--more than enough to dissipate 150W of heat.
Oh, the price is about $23 after tax.

I'd prefer the 8GB model for only $50.

Twice the space+less than twice the cost=[H]ot.

I had a drive that wouldn't shut up after a while; in the beginning it was just a click every few hours. I ended up losing it and the data on the RAID0 array of which it was a part.
I've since RMAd the drive and switched to RAID5. Got a spare adapter for up to 8 drives, if anyone's interested.
No luck yet, folks--looking to go sub-$0.20/GB here.
Any quantity is fine--any I don't need, I can EBay the rest or share them with my pals on the [H].
Any help?
I would do an advance replacement from the OEM, ghost your contents onto the new, freshly re-partitioned drive, then send in the old one.
Better to pay the $8 in shipping the old drive back than deal with clicking, be it problematic or just annoying.

Hey all,
Looking for a pile of new/refurbished HDDs, in the 250-500GB capacity. Anyone know of a place to buy in bulk and save some dollars?
Thanks,
jkpq45
I bit--I've been charged and have an order confirmation. The law is on my side with respect to not getting charged more--the most I think they can do is cancel my order. With any luck, it'll ship.

I'm considering parting with my watercooling setup. The waterblock is a danger den TDX with tops for socket A/462, 754, 940, 939 and AM2. The radiator is a newly-bought heatercore designed to work with a 1977 pontiac bonneville (designed to use two 120mm fans), and the pump is 11.7gpm capacity...
Hi all,
Need to build a new SFF system--moving from a large, watercooled rig. I need Socket 754, AGP and PC3200. Overclocking would be nice and using a full size ATX PSU would be quite nice.
If this can be had in the shuttle-type SFF, great. Otherwise, some advice on the "sideways" mATX...
I'm staring at the MW22U right now, running at 1680x1050. Fed by a fully digital signal through a 15' single link DVI cable with no ghosting and no signal loss.
I would like to get some more specific drivers for it so the colors could be more finely tuned.
The base is a little shaky--any...
I have a Adapter MegaRAID i4 that accepts 8 IDE drives. Runs very well, I jsut have a spare. Let me know if you'd like it to enhance your setup.

Hi Guys,
Bought a 110V/1Phase pump off EBay and it works great--I have it submerged, as I've had inline pumps crack and leak--AC since no DC pump fits my needs. My problem is that the pump is simply dumping too much heat into the water for system temps to be acceptable.
The culprit here...

I suppose if you're new to google checkout you can shave another $10 off the total price. 3 HDMI inputs let you switch your high(er) definition equipment without the need for componenet or HDMI switching on you surround...

Deal just went to $99. $20 discount will pay for a decent cooler.
Just my $0.02.

I don't really understand how this silly thing supports 1080i/1080p. Wouldn't it have to support a resolution of 1920x1080 @ 30Hz or 60Hz RR for 1080i, 1080p respectively?
Or does it just convert it down to 720p (or even 720i... boo!)
Thanks,

Trying to get Ubuntu to recognize this card, mount the partition and format it... anyone had any experience?
The networking aspect of setting up the NAS will be relatively simple, just trying to get the OS to allow the above. MegaRAID is recognized under system devices, but apparently, I...
FS: LSI Logic MegaRAID 511 RAID0/1/3/5 adapter PCI 32b/33MHz
Like the title says--this thing has 4 IDE channels for a total of 8 IDE disks, capable of hardware RAID0/1/3/5/10/30/50 etc. They usually go for $130 plus on EBay--I just got my auctions mixed up last week when I bought this and...

Looked to be pretty sweet to me, especially for the 512MB version and by a solid OEM like Powercolor. Certainly a step up from my 9800PRO despite the 128-bit memory bandwidth.
Good for those looking for a last AGP card before...
