I bought the Gateway FPD2185W about two weeks ago and I'm still smiling everytime I see it.
It's just barely under your price range at $599 here
I don't know if it's the best but it sure is working well for me, no ghosting in games, DVD's looking good, plenty of inputs... I plugged a second...
If something is pressing on the HSF enough to flex the mobo you should remedie that situation even if it turns out the temps are ok right now. It seems to me that the HSF won't be able to stay firmly in contact if it's being pushed that way and everytime something bumps the frame of the box the...
I've had mine at the 240 mark and 1T a few times trying different combinations of RAM and timings out but not long enough to where I could have called it stable.
And with some combinations of timings/RAM it's definitely unstable under stress at the 240 mark so I have my doubts about anything...
Which setting would you pick for best performance in gaming and creating DVD's from digital video camera files?
In both cases using a AMD X2 4400+ and 2 gig of OCZ DDR400 RAM....
1) (stock settings) 200 mhz CPU clock x 11 multiplier, 1000mhz HTF, 200mhz memory clock RAM at 2,3,2,5 1T...
I think I'd enjoy the game by just looking at some videos I've seen but I rarely consider a game if it's not multi-player. I find that playing against real humans is way more fun, more engaging and removes the repetative nature found in most, if not all, single player games. I liked Half Life...
Thanks for the heads up.
I just returned from exchanging it and as soon as I tuned the new one on I uninstalled EzTune...
So far everythings great. I guess I should have waited a little longer and tried to uninstall EzTune first but time was of the essence, if I was going to get it exchanged...
I just got this display. Out of the box it seemed great, played Battlefield2 and surfed the web for a few hours back and forth...no trouble.
Returned later last night, installed the EzTune software, and FRAPS started playing Battlefield and the display would go dark and then the on screen...
What's with the new power supply?!?
I can't find it on the web site but if I can get a 450 watt version of the one that fits that case I'd be interested! I have the one that came with the Hornet barebones combo I just bought a few weeks ago but it's only a 350 watt (400 watt peak)...this one...
Ok, here's the latest:
X24400+
I have it at
CPU:
freq - 265
multi - x10
hypertransport freq at 600mhz
voltage set at 1.50 (but it seems to be fluctuating in CPU-Z at 1.39 to 1.41)
divider 166mhz
DRAM:
220.2 mhz
2x 1024 OCZ
2.5 - 4 - 3 - 6 ..... command 1-T
voltage 2.65...
Roger that.
I did get it to run at 2400 for a awhile without any problems but memory was running down at 188mhz.... then I took it up to 2600 but it blue screened during 3D Mark...haven't really figured out the subtlties of the settings yet with the memory divider and everything but it looks...
Still here, haven't had time to figure out how to overclock an AMD (always had Intel before) the BIOS settings all look like a foriegn language to me.
but heres what I have so far in 3D mark 05: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1890127
In 3dmark 06 it is...
I just got a BFG overclocked 7900GT from NewEgg and one capacitor was broken off. I called NewEgg and they wanted me to wait while they filed a claim with FedEx before they would ship another one so I rolled the dice took it down to a local electronics repair guy who has a reputation of being...
On the Hornet case the front panel audio cable has loose connectors instead of a plug that matches the audio headers pin arrangement. Each conductor has its own plastic one-pin-connector....
Not fucked up but you have to know what you're doing...definitely not a plug-for-dummies arrangement...
To anyone with this board:
I'm having trouble connecting the front panel audio and mic cables from a Monarch Computers Hornet Pro case to the audio header pins on the EVGA 131-K8-NF44 SLI motherboard.
The front panel audio cables from the case are labeled:
mic gnd
mic data
mic vcc
ear...
sure can't blame the boss at [H]ard from filtering out the possible comercial jackals so they don't turn the site into a spam fest but I wouldn't bust the QMicra guy's balls for trying to put the best possible spin on something he believes in either.
I'll bet you could go back and find a time...
What HSF setup is anyone using on this board and are the new AMD stock HSF's really as good as people are saying?
I wanted to get the X2 4400+ and run two sticks of 1GB...due to the RAM slot config ( have to use slot 1 and 3) it doesn't leave much room for the Zalman7700 I had my eye on.
Just made reservations with United and they said I'll have to check the desktop with the luggage because I won't have a monitor to plug into it to show it's really a computer instead of a nuclear weapon....
OK so they didn't specify the nuclear weapon part but regardless, without being able to...
Someone said: "the 2T thing only applies to 1GB sticks of ram right? Not 2X512? "
Does this mean that if I want to use 2 GB of ram I could use 4 512 sticks and avoid the timing issues?
I ordered this board primarily for it's SFF capabilities and the ability to use SLI, I wasn't really...
OK, so your penis is ever so slightly bigger this morning...so what?
The real test that defines the difference between you two is, Operaman is having fun using his penis and you are busy complaining about how he's having fun insted of enjoying your own....what good is having the bigger one if...
