Op - congats on getting yourself a new system and getting what you want. If your case is going to be out where you can see it - the aesthetics do matter! Hope all goes well and you enjoy an awesome new rig!
Thank you so much! I cancelled my order with Amazon UK for the 128G version and got the 256G version from Amazon Japan for less and it will get here faster!
Thanks. Hmmm - I usually go for the larger memory size. Might have to compromise on this one (if it kicks ass then I'll probably give to my son and get a second one). I appreciate it.
Damn you people - now I really want to check this out...! Thanks for the great thread.
What is the best way to purchase this? I've been looking for a bit and the only legit place I've come across is Amazon UK but the 256G version isn't in stock.
Any links or pointers would be greatly...
I don't know what to tell you. Maybe there is something better out there for text - I just don't know. I do know that the LG OLED I tried - the text quality felt like stabbing my eyes...! (not really, but it was so noticeable that it got boxed up in under 48 hours). That being said - I...
I had this same decision to make last year. I haven't seen what the new 2023 QN90B has over last year but I can say that I have absolutely loved my 43" Samsung QN90B display. I have it paired with a 4090 running at 144Hz. I use it daily for 12+ hours for work and in the evenings. I do a mix...
Thought I would do a quick update. My build is almost done. I did manage to get the 420 AIO (Corsair HH170i) in the front of the Lancool 3 case. I wasn't able to mount it first on the front mounting bracket as it couldn't rotate in as it was too tall. I did assemble it inside the case...
lol - that's what I get for typing while tired. Yes, ATX 3.0 (PCIe 5). It is the MSI 4090 Suprim.
I did order the MSI PSU after reading mroe user feedback and the review on Tom's Hardware. I know it is probably not really going to make a difference, but it's looking like I won't have time...
I'm just about to build my new system. I have a MSI Strix 4090 video card, Intel 13900K proc. Most all of the PCIe 3.0 PSUs were out of stock when I was getting components at the end of December so I picked up the Asus ROG Thor PSU even though it isn't PCIe 3.0.
I just checked MSI's website...
Thanks for all the suggestions! I finally got done with family/Holiday stuff to look through the cases. There were several that I considered, but in the end I ordered the Lian Li Lancool III RGB. I really like my Lancool II Mesh RGB cases, so something a little bigger but in the same line...
NKD - congrats! I started getting stock alerts for BB in the last few days but never in my area (Idaho). I keep checking just in case, but my bundle from MSI will arrrive on Tuesday so that works for me!
I don't think so - the 1700 GPU is going to give great performance - the extra few hundred for a mobo with 10g most likely won't give any benefit over having the 10g connection. That's a lot to pay for 1 feature.
Anyways - I'm looking for case ideas. If you just want to pick at my purchasing...
I wanted to get this bought this year for tax reasons, but I am still on the fence about the mobo and if I can resell the AIO that would be great. I did grab a 13900K on Newegg for $589. I'm not in a huge rush so I am going to try and enjoy the process (and not go mad with all the "what about...
I've got a mobo coming with the 4090 (MSI MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI: MPG Z790 CARBON) and while I could sell it, besides the Gigabyte z790 Auros Master the price of z790 mobos with 10g NICs is $300+ more than the mobo coming. I personally prefer MSI, ASRock and Asus over Gigabtye. And I already...
Lol - I finally broke down and bought the kit. It's the only card I've seen come in stock online for the last couple of weeks and I'm tired of constantly checking...! The motherboard is a good board from what I've seen. Not sure I'm thrilled with the $280 cooler, but as I mentioned above they...
I am building a new system (keeping my existing system in its case) so looking at different cases is a good idea though I might come back to the same case (currently have 3 of them...!). I'm going to be running the 4090 and a i9-13900 so my thought is to allow for as much airflow as I can. I...
I just purchased a MSI Suprim RTX 4090 card and I am looking to build out a new system. In my current system I'm using and love my Lian Li Lancool-II-Mesh-RGB. From this Reddit post it shows that the this case can do the 4090 card but with the 2 fans at the bottom of the case there isn't room...
Awesome! I just picked that one up as well from MSI but I had to get the bundle (mobo and cpu cooler). This isn't all bad and I'll just setup a new system and pass my existing onto my son. I was surprised that when I placed my order they didn't charge sales tax... I'm not complaining... ...
Exactly this. If his room is cooler and he's playing the same thing as before the upgrade then his room IS cooler. So what if the card is overkill - you don't buy something like this to only ever play what you currently are. Will a more demanding game make his video card work harder (maybe at...
I just got done reading the AMD 7900XTX benchmarks at Tomshardware. It looks like a nice card, but now I wish I would have just gotten a 4090 even with the price difference... I really hope supply starts to come back. This is feeling like the whole PS5 or high end video card lottery from the...
I think it is important to know what it is you want out of a PC build and build for that - not the exteme high end unless that is what you need. I jumped into 4k fairly early with the 48" Samsung u6700 and js9000 in 2015 and have never looked back. For what I do, I have always craved/needed a...
Sometimes when you are trying to get the card out, you need to push down and make sure it is fully seated, then try the above suggestions. The latch can sometimes be a pain when there is pressure on it from trying to get it out (at least in my experience).
Guess I'll have to wait and see what performance the 7900XTX is compared to the 4090s. I really want to upgrade but I finally got a 4k TV that does 144Hz (Samsung 43" QN90B) and my decision will come down to what is going to give the best value while ensuring 4k maxxed out graphics are well...
Thanks for the info. Usually Citibank alerts me when that type of thing happens, but this one showed as pending and no alerts. I'm not heartbroken that it happened - guess I'll see what AMD has to say today.
I got notified about this last night and decided to give it a try. Used Apple Pay and got confirmation from my credit card company that the charge went through (it was about 1:30am local time). Got up this morning to an email that my order failed verification and to call them. Called and was...
I hear you. I setup a second gaming station connected to my main system that just happens to be on the opposite side of my office. 4k @ 60Hz was no issue for longer cable runs but I went through multiple cables trying to find one that could do 4k @ 144Hz over 40ft in length. Ended up with...
Thanks! I think I'll hold out for an Asus card as the dual HDMI would be a great benefit as all of my displays are 4k TVs and while I've had success using HDMI to DP cables for 10ft or less 4k @ 60Hz my newest display (Samsung 43" Q90nb) is running 4k @ 144Hz over a 40ft cable. If I want to...
Hello. I'm looking to upgrade my current 6900XT to a new GTX 4090. In looking at the cards available I'm trying to understand if I can look at any of the AIO cooling based cards like the MSI SUPRIM Liquid X.
Here's a link to my original build post from earlier this year. There is a current...
Great thread and responses. My son's birthday is coming up (10) and he wants to try VR. With the recent changes for the Quest 2 (not having to use a Facebook account) I guess we will give it a try. I'm thinking that the price is decent for getting started and it sounds like the Quest 2 will...
I've been keeping tabs on this thread as I may eventually get a 42" OLED. I did pick up a Samsung QN90B 43" to use with my AMD 6900XT. This cable from Amazon is the only one over 25ft that I was able to get working: AAXY 8K 40' HDMI
Verified that it will do 4K @ 120/144Hz 10bit 4:4:4.
I...
