One last bump. Had the cable people come out and check the lines which did show a weak signal, but I'm still confused as to why my wireless disconnections sometimes. Ill try a new channel and moving the AP to see if that helps.
I use a Gateway NV59 (gets super hot, will have to reapply CPU paste soon) with a Atheros ,AR5B93 chip (which I will upgrade the drivers for tomorrow) and I changed the WAP to channel 1 from 6. I
Another bump. Still not sure what I should be looking for to fix this. Some days the wireless works fine while others I have trouble. I'm starting to suspect my laptop is also having trouble because it has cooling problems which will require me to reapply the CPU paste (which will be annoying)
InSSIDer shows me as being the only AP in my immediate vicinity on channel 1. I'll see if its the microwave causing the trouble but I'm trying to figure out why this has become so troublesome recently. We're in the process of getting rid of all 2.4Ghz phones in the house to see if that will...
I originally had problems staying connected with a few wireless devices in my house with a five year old TRENDnet WAP. I figured it was time to upgrade to 11N anyway, and upgraded to a TP-Link TLWA901ND. It worked great for a few weeks but now my laptop disconnects from the wireless every 15-60...
Just got mine. After a few days of adjusting from my old worn down Everglide Giganta to this, I'm loving it. My aim feels alot better on this pad. Thanks Kyle for the great deal too
I'm trying to play some steam games but store.steampowered.com won't come up at all and I can even access my games. It says "Scanning for Steam game updates..."
EDIT: Now I'm having trouble DLing TF2. What is going on?
Hi, my SN45 died a few months ago, and I suddenly got the urge to resurrect the box. Anybody know where I can find a replacement motherboard for it? It doesn't have to be the exact same one, I just want something that fits in the shuttle (have a lot of processors laying around)

Is there a way I can set something up on my network so that when someone tries to open the vids I have on the HTTP, that they can buffer their vids and play them like youtube? Because my laptops on wireless don't always get a consistent connection, and if I could pause and buffer them to load...
Do I really need another PSU? Or can I get away with the Forton one for a while?
How about going with something open box to save some cash?

First off thanks for your help Weasel.
I guess I would like to be doing more IT centered work, but im wondering would I end up in a better career ladder by taking a business centered course?
If all else fails in the IT sector, I can always for back on my interest for a Business...
1. What are your options from the schools you've looked at?
Among others, I am looking at Indiana University, Rowan, Marquette, Temple, UMBC, Hofstra, and Xavier
2. What are your personal interests?
I like mostly computer repair from the hardware side. Like building machines, maintenence...
So I shouldn't get a networking type degree I should just look at Computer Science? Wouldn't a Business Information type degree fall into that spectrum?
Right now for college, I am looking at some kind of Business Information Systems type course (like working with computer hardware and networking the most). The thing is I'm not sure how many jobs are available for this field or if it is even the best IT field to go into at this time. What would...
One of my system's mobo died, and I will be redoing it. I am going with a PCIE x16 mobo, so I will need a new video card among other things. My main system also runs PCIE x16, and I've been thinking of upgrading the video card in that system too. The main system already has a X800GTO, and I...
I put in the old disk and it was still set to C: (imagine that), so I attempted to do a repair install, and this is the error I got:
Error:
The signature for Windows XP Professional Upgrade (I am using the full version BTW) is invalid. The error code is fffffb40.
The system cannot...
I swapped the memory out and I also did a disk copy to a brand new disk. So those two are out. The last part I think it could be is video card or power supply, but I'm pretty sure its not he PS.
My bad on the double post. The thing is giga, when I get to the screen where I would tell it to do a repair install, that option is not there like it used to be. It seems like I must do a reformat. I would not like to, but if I need to get my system back up, I'll just use my new disk I bought to...
CHKDSK found an error on the volume (I ran it through the recovery console). What should I do next? I'm not getting the option for a repair install to come up for some reason.

I think I have found a problem. I copied the Windows install from an older hard disk to a new one, and the new one is now the D: drive on the system #2. Would that prevent Windows from booting safe mode and regular Windows? I'm grasping at straws here, I want this shit fixed and its starting to...
