I used a joystick for a lot of the old flight sims and switched over to using KBM in Doom 2. I was using only the keyboard for Wolf3d and Doom. However, Descent was the first 1st person shooter I played that allowed us to move in a 3d space and I used inverted mouse for that and it stuck with...
I installed the drive on another PC and tried to copy files to it to test. It gets to a certain point and suddenly stops/errors out, so looks like it's a bad drive.
Anyone else run into this issue? I have a Rocket 4 Plus I just installed and would get WHEA BSODs constantly. Putting back the old Inland nvme drive resolves the issue. Guessing the drive needs to be RMA'd, but wanted to crosss reference with others to see if maybe theres an open issue with...
Just picked up a 5800x. Gave up on a 5900x/5950x for now. I've got another system to get up and running with the 3700x it's replacing. I don't really anticipate needing more than that for my uses, but I can always pick up a 59xx later down the road if that ever changes or perhaps just upgrade to...
2 single rank dimms, 1 dimm per channel = single rank. 4 single rank dimms, 2 dimms per channel = dual rank. He removed 1 dimm from each channel, making it single rank.
Yes, which would turn it from dual rank to single rank. All things equal, dual rank configurations will outperform single rank. The performance difference varies, but it has been the case for a very long time. You would achieve the same performance with 2 dual rank dimms as 4 single rank dimms...
No issues with mine. Solid build quality, no misaligned holes. Front mesh pops out for cleaning if you remove the bottom filter and reach under the front panel. There will be a locking tab there you push to pop the front mesh out independently.
Loved the Battlefield series up to BF4. Didn't care much for BF1 and the was disappointed with how they handled BFV. I'll be cautiously optimistic with this one and will set my expectations low if it's still the same "team" working on it as BFV.
Not just AMD fans. Many of us who don't pick sides but buy the high end GPUs are plenty excited too. More competition, more innovation and better pricing. Can't wait to pick up a 6900XT.
Yup and RT isnt in a position right now speed wise with anything to be a must have feature. As long as it has usable RT performance (and it does), it will let me mess with RT settings in games that benefit from it. If the landscape changes significantly in the next few years, so be it and I'll...
The 6900XT slide had rage mode and smart access on. It's probably going to be such a small difference overall that it would really only matter for benchmarks.
I actually got a gsync compatible/freesync premium pro monitor to replace my gsync one for this reason. If the reviews even remotely hold up to the AMD presentation, I'm pretty certain I'll be picking up a 6900xt.. if I can get my hands on one that is.
Feel the same way. I also recently got a new monitor so I was really excited to get a new GPU. Since acquiring one has been difficult and my titan xp handles what I play just fine, I'm no longer in a rush to get one. I'll see what AMD has to offer and weigh it against the 20gb 3080 when they...
Ugh. I picked up a 38GN950-B. Beautiful monitor. Unfortunately this one has to go back because it has a dead pixel right smack in the middle of the screen. :(
He should definitely check his airflow as you said. The game uses the GPU pretty hard. My Titan XP (running stock clocks) also hits 83c with the fan pegged to 100% easily in XIV tho if left uncapped. The blower cooler just sucks unfortunately.
XIV makes GPUs run hot, nothing wrong with your card esp since it has a blower cooler. Best to limit your frame rate or set your power limit lower if you're playing for extended periods.
Honestly I'd keep my Titan XP if I didn't need to replace another GPU. Since I'm buying anyway, I figured I might as well get a 3090 and move the Titan XP to the other PC.
