B:O is terrible in its current state, but take a moment and consider that B:O was released without a PC beta test. I wager on the first real patch in the next weeks when the release hype dies down. If they tune the online playability and steam integration functions, we have a winner. It can only...
Didn't you have a 140mm top panel? Set the fan to exhaust. I have 2x120 exhaust fans in the top panel. It solved my ventilation problem and i have even hotter components. Before i modded the case, all the heat would get trapped inside the case. The front panel would always get warm to the touch...
those new video settings that are enabled by default makes a blu ray video look like a divx, so uncheck all the options in the 'advanced quality' tab
mosquito noise reduction? what the hell?
where to hide wires is very difficult in this case, especially when no hdd cage in place. there are not many places to stuff them. only place is next to the psu. i will have to unplug everything and start over. i have also tried to push/pull with 2 of those fans, but difference was no greater...
No, I didnt want to buy any costly chipset cooling for this board so I dropped those. Instead, I removed the Corsair H-50 and replaced it with an air cooler and intake fan. Without the intake fan it didnt get any airflow. Now it never goes above 75c which is still pretty high but should be safe...
mine was the other way around, acceptable noise level in the beginning, then it took a turn for the worse and started to sound like a constant hard drive. decided to get that trash out of my system and reinstall an air cooler. temps are about the same.
if you have the card in the 3rd slot on the board like mine, it won't hit the hdd cage. this requires a motherboard with a pci-e slot in that position though. when i bought my motherboard, i had to look for this specific thing. i just removed my hdd cage because i dont have any 3.5 drives.
i bought mine 3 weeks ago, it has no coil whine.
turbo boost is what makes the bios show x22 multi instead of 21, thats all it does. turbo boost is just a gimmick.
2 mosfet coolers? the northbridge cooler only shares the heatpipe with one of the two mosfet coolers, so i thought i could leave the top/bottom one alone as it doesnt heat up. anyway, thanks for advice.
I ghetto modded a asus chipset flow fan on the nb heatsink and it lowered the temps to 70c. i have been running 24/7, can the board have taken permanent damage?
The MCH (whatever that is) on my Gigabyte x58a is running crazy hot. After playing some BC2 i checked HWmonitor and noticed a sensor was reporting 98c. 98c!!!! I turned the pc off for 10 minutes to cool down and checked the bios in case it was a faulty reading. Now running prime95 the temp is...
paste looks good, it spreads out well. the corners of the cpu heatspreader may be raised though because i can see marks from the outer edges on the heatsink base. i use linx for stress testing. i use auto for all voltages except cpu vcore.
i can set the voltage to 1.12v and get about 70c load.
i have a i7 930, it loads at 80c stock 1.25vcore with a nh-u12p. i think the cooler is at fault, i felt the heatpipes at the base and they do not get warm.
i just changed to a nh-c12p i used on my c2d rig and it gets the same temps, so this means i have a bad oc chip?
yes. but the fan speeds adjusts itself accordingly. so at worst it may idle in the bios with about 30-40% fan speed and still feel hot. a scenario that is normal when i game with actual load on the gpu
